Product Components
Your Moss & Stone Electric Percolator includes the following components:
- Electric percolator coffee pot (10-cup / 54 Oz capacity)
- Stylish Wood-Look Base (Note: Not Real Wood)
- Removable coffee filter basket
- Pump tube
- Lid with cool-touch BPA-free polycarbonate (Plastic) transparent knob
- Power cord (24-inch, removable)

Setup
Before first use, wash all removable parts (filter basket, pump tube, lid) in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the percolator with a damp cloth. Ensure the power cord is detached before cleaning.

Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Fill the percolator with cold water to the desired level, indicated by the internal markings (5-6 oz per cup).
- Place the pump tube into the center well at the bottom of the percolator.
- Place the removable filter basket onto the pump tube.
- Add medium-ground coffee to the filter basket. Use approximately one heaping tablespoon of coffee per cup of water, adjusting to your taste. Do not use fine-ground coffee as it may seep through the filter.
- Place the filter lid on top of the filter basket.
- Secure the percolator lid with the transparent knob.
- Attach the detachable power cord to the percolator base, then plug it into a 120V AC outlet.
- Turn on the percolator using the switch on the side. The brewing process will begin, and you can observe the coffee perking through the transparent knob.
- Once brewing is complete (typically 7-8 minutes for 10 cups), the ready-to-serve indicator light will illuminate. The percolator will automatically switch to a keep-warm function.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and then from the percolator base before serving.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the percolator and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Discard used coffee grounds from the filter basket.
- Wash the filter basket, pump tube, and lid in warm, soapy water. All stainless steel parts are dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the interior and exterior of the percolator pot with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the electrical base in water.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling or storing.
Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits may build up inside the percolator. To descale, fill the percolator with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Brew as usual, then discard the solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and brew a cycle with plain water before making coffee.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee not brewing | Not plugged in; power switch off | Ensure power cord is securely plugged into both the percolator and a working outlet. Turn the power switch to 'on'. |
| Weak coffee | Insufficient coffee grounds; too coarse grind | Add more coffee grounds or use a slightly finer (but still medium) grind. |
| Bitter coffee | Too many coffee grounds; too fine grind; over-percolating | Reduce coffee grounds or use a coarser grind. Ensure coffee is served promptly after brewing is complete. |
| Grounds in coffee | Coffee grind too fine; filter basket not seated correctly | Use medium-ground coffee. Ensure the filter basket is properly placed on the pump tube and the lid is secure. |
