  • Machine Head: The main body containing the sewing mechanisms.
  • Integrated Control Panel: Digital interface for setting stitch parameters, needle position, and activating automatic functions.
  • Thread Stand: Holds the spools of thread.
  • Tension Dials: Adjusts the tension of the upper thread.
  • Needle Bar: Holds the needle.
  • Presser Foot: Holds the fabric firmly against the feed dogs.
  • Feed Dogs: Moves the fabric under the needle.
  • Bobbin Winder: Winds thread onto the bobbin.
  • Handwheel: Manually raises and lowers the needle.
  • LED Light: Illuminates the sewing area.

4. Setup

Professional assembly may be required for the table and machine head. Follow these steps for initial setup:

4.1 Unpacking and Assembly

The machine comes in multiple packages, typically including the machine head and the table/stand components.

Figure 5: The industrial sewing machine table stand, which requires assembly before mounting the machine head.

  1. Carefully unpack all components, ensuring no parts are missing. Refer to the packing list.
  2. Assemble the sewing machine table stand according to the separate assembly instructions provided with the table.
  3. Mount the machine head securely onto the assembled table. Ensure all bolts are tightened.
  4. Connect the foot pedal and any other external components as instructed.

4.2 Power Connection

  • Ensure the machine's power switch is in the OFF position.
  • Connect the power cord to a grounded 110V electrical outlet.
  • The machine features an energy-saving direct-drive servomotor, integrating the control box and operation panel with the machine head.

4.3 Threading the Machine

Proper threading is crucial for optimal stitch quality.

  1. Upper Thread: Place the thread spool on the thread stand. Guide the thread through all guides, tension discs, and the take-up lever, then through the needle eye.
  2. Bobbin Winding: Place an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle. Guide the thread from the spool through the bobbin winder tension disc and onto the bobbin. Engage the winder and start the machine to wind the bobbin. Stop when full.
  3. Bobbin Insertion: Open the bobbin case cover. Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread feeds correctly. Close the cover.

4.4 Needle Installation

  • Turn off the power.
  • Loosen the needle clamp screw.
  • Insert the new needle with the flat side facing the back of the machine, pushing it up as far as it will go.
  • Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Control Panel Functions

The integrated control panel allows for precise control over various sewing functions:

  • Stitch Length Adjustment: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the desired stitch length.
  • Needle Position (Up/Down): Set the needle to stop in the up or down position after sewing.
  • Automatic Reverse-Feed Stitching: Program the machine to automatically perform reverse stitches at the beginning and/or end of a seam for reinforcement.
  • Automatic Under Trimmer: Activates the automatic thread cutting function at the end of a seam.
  • Automatic Foot Lifter: Engages the automatic presser foot lifting mechanism.
  • Soft Start: Provides a gradual increase in sewing speed at the start of a seam.
  • Constant Dimension Sewing: Maintains consistent stitch dimensions for specific patterns.
  • Pocket Sewing: Specialized function for pocket creation.
  • Multi-Layer Stitching: Optimized settings for sewing through multiple layers of fabric.

5.2 Basic Sewing Operation

  1. Turn on the power switch. The LED light will illuminate the sewing area.
  2. Place the fabric under the presser foot.
  3. Lower the presser foot using the knee lifter or the automatic foot lifter function.
  4. Gently press the foot pedal to start sewing. The direct-drive servo motor provides precise speed control.
  5. Guide the fabric smoothly. Do not pull or push the fabric forcefully.
  6. To stop, release the foot pedal. If the automatic under trimmer is activated, the threads will be cut automatically.

5.3 Adjustments

  • Thread Tension: Adjust the upper thread tension dial (Figure 2) to achieve balanced stitches. The bobbin tension can be adjusted via a small screw on the bobbin case.
  • Stitch Length: Use the control panel to increase or decrease stitch length as needed for different fabrics and applications.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your machine.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
  • Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove lint and dust from the feed dogs, bobbin area, and under the needle plate.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.

6.2 Lubrication

The Speedway SW9000-D4 features an automatic lubrication system. Ensure the oil reservoir is filled to the appropriate level with recommended sewing machine oil. Check the oil level regularly and refill as necessary.

7. Troubleshooting

Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Skipped Stitches Incorrect needle size/type, bent needle, improper threading, incorrect needle insertion. Change needle, re-thread machine, ensure needle is inserted correctly.
Thread Breakage High thread tension, poor quality thread, burrs on needle plate/hook, incorrect threading. Reduce tension, use quality thread, check for burrs, re-thread.
Uneven Stitches Incorrect thread tension, worn needle, inconsistent fabric feeding. Adjust tension, replace needle, ensure smooth fabric guidance.
Machine Not Starting No power, safety switch engaged, motor issue. Check power connection, ensure safety features are disengaged, consult service if motor fails.
Noise/Vibration Loose parts, lack of lubrication, foreign object. Check for loose screws, ensure oil reservoir is full, inspect for obstructions.

If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact qualified service personnel.
