Initial Setup:

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the Nord Grand from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.
2. Placement: Place the keyboard on a stable, flat surface or a dedicated keyboard stand. Ensure adequate ventilation around the instrument.
3. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cord to the AC IN socket on the rear panel of the Nord Grand and then to a suitable power outlet.
4. Pedal Connection: Connect the Nord Triple Pedal to the dedicated pedal input on the rear panel.
5. Audio Output: Connect the main audio outputs (L/R) to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface using appropriate cables.
6. USB Connection (Optional): For MIDI communication with a computer, connect a USB cable from the Nord Grand's USB port to your computer.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

• Power On/Off: Locate the power switch on the rear panel. Press to turn the instrument on or off.
• Volume Control: Adjust the Master Level knob on the top panel to control the overall output volume.
• Program Selection: Use the Program buttons to select different sound presets. The display will show the current program name.

Piano Section:

The Piano section offers a wide array of acoustic and electric pianos. Use the dedicated Piano Select knob to browse categories like Grand, Upright, Electric, and Digital. Adjust parameters such as Key Touch, Timbre, and activate features like String Resonance and Pedal Noise for enhanced realism.

Sample Synth Section:

The Sample Synth section provides access to a rich collection of sounds from the Nord Sample Library. Use the Sample Select knob to choose categories and individual samples. Control parameters like Attack, Decay/Release, and Filter to shape your sounds.

Effects Section:

The Nord Grand includes two Effects sections, an Equalizer, Delay, Amp/Comp, and Reverb. Each effect can be independently assigned to the Piano or Sample Synth section. Adjust the dedicated knobs for each effect to customize your sound.

Monitor Input:

The Nord Grand features a monitor input on the rear panel. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, CD player) to this input. The signal will be routed through the Nord Grand's main outputs, allowing you to play along with external music without needing an additional mixer.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the surface of the instrument.
• For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.
• Keep the keys clean by wiping them regularly.

Storage:

• When not in use, cover the keyboard to protect it from dust and debris.
• Store the instrument in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
