4. Setup Guide

4.1. Assembling the Light Stand

  1. Extend the legs of the light stand to form a stable base.
  2. Loosen the locking collars and extend the central column to the desired height. Securely tighten all locking collars.

4.2. Mounting the Flash Head

  1. Place the GODOX SK300II flash head onto the top stud of the light stand.
  2. Secure the flash head by tightening the mounting screw on the flash unit's bracket.
  3. Insert the modeling lamp into its socket on the flash head.
  4. Attach the lamp cover for protection when not in use.

4.3. Attaching Light Modifiers (Softbox/Umbrella)

The SK300II features a Bowens S-Type mount for various light modifiers.

4.3.1. Softbox Assembly

  1. Assemble the softbox rods into the speed ring.
  2. Align the speed ring with the Bowens S-Type mount on the flash head.
  3. Push the speed ring firmly into the mount and rotate clockwise until it locks into place.
  4. Attach the inner and outer diffusers to the softbox.

4.3.2. Umbrella Attachment

  1. Open the umbrella.
  2. Insert the umbrella shaft through the umbrella mounting hole on the flash head bracket.
  3. Adjust the umbrella's position and tighten the locking screw to secure it.

4.4. Connecting Power

Connect the power cable to the flash head and then to a suitable AC power outlet. Ensure the flash unit's power switch is in the "OFF" position before connecting to power.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On and Basic Operation

  1. After connecting power, switch the flash unit's power button to "ON".
  2. The modeling lamp will illuminate, and the flash will begin recycling. The "Flash Ready" indicator (audio/visual) will signal when the unit is ready to fire.
  3. Adjust the flash power output using the control dial on the back of the flash head.
  4. The GODOX SK300II has a maximum power of 300 Ws and a guide number of 190' / 58m at ISO100.
  5. Flash duration ranges from 1/2000 to 1/800 seconds, with a recycle time of 0.4 to 2.5 seconds.
  6. The color temperature is stable at 5600K ± 200K.

5.2. Using the XTR16 Wireless Power-Control Flash Trigger

The included XTR16 trigger allows for wireless control of the flash units.

  1. Mount the XTR16 transmitter onto your camera's hot shoe.
  2. Ensure the flash units are set to receive signals from the trigger. Refer to the flash unit's specific settings for wireless mode.
  3. Use the controls on the XTR16 to adjust flash power and trigger the units remotely.
