Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Sonos Move, consider the following maintenance guidelines:

  • Weather Resistance: The Sonos Move has an IP56 rating, meaning it is resistant to humidity, rain, snow, dust, salt spray, UV rays, and extreme temperatures. While durable, avoid submerging the speaker in water.
  • Durability: The speaker features a hard-wearing, shock-resistant case designed to protect its components from accidental drops and bumps.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker. For tougher spots, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: To maximize battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the speaker regularly, especially if it will be stored for an extended period.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Sonos Move, try the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure the charging base is properly connected to a power outlet and the speaker is correctly seated on the base. Check the power indicator light.
  • No Sound: Verify the volume is not muted or set too low. Check the Sonos app for playback status and ensure the correct input source is selected.
  • Connectivity Issues (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth):
    • For Wi-Fi, ensure your router is working and the speaker is within range. Try restarting your router and the Sonos Move.
    • For Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the Sonos Move is in pairing mode. Try unpairing and re-pairing the device.
  • Voice Assistant Not Responding: Ensure the microphone is not muted (check the microphone icon on the top panel). Verify the speaker is connected to Wi-Fi and your Alexa account is properly linked in the Sonos app.
