Setup
Battery Installation
The Yuwell YHW2 thermometer requires two AAA batteries for operation. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the thermometer.
- Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
- Insert two AAA batteries, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals as shown inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
- To power on, press the measurement button. The device will perform a self-test and display the last reading.
- The thermometer will automatically power off after approximately 30 seconds of inactivity.
Measuring Body Temperature (Forehead Mode)
- Ensure the thermometer is in Body Temperature mode. If not, press the Mode button to switch.
- Hold the thermometer approximately 1-5 cm (0.4-2 inches) from the center of the forehead.
- Press and release the measurement button. A beep will sound, and the temperature reading will appear on the display within 1 second.
- For consistent results, ensure the forehead is clean and dry, free from hair or sweat.
Measuring Surface Temperature (Object Mode)
- Ensure the thermometer is in Surface Temperature mode. Press the Mode button to switch if necessary.
- Point the thermometer at the object whose surface temperature you wish to measure. Maintain a distance of 1-5 cm.
- Press and release the measurement button. The surface temperature will be displayed.
- Note: This mode measures surface temperature and is not suitable for body temperature measurement.
Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, ensure the device is powered on. Press and hold the Mode button for a few seconds until the unit changes on the display.
Memory Recall
The thermometer stores up to 20 previous temperature readings. To access the memory:
- With the thermometer powered on, press the Memory button (if available, or a combination of buttons as per specific model design).
- Each press will cycle through the stored readings, from most recent to oldest.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Wipe the thermometer body with a soft, dry cloth. For disinfection, use a cloth lightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
- Clean the probe lens gently with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol. Do not scratch the lens.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
Storage
- Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
