2. Setup

2.1 What's in the Box

2.2 Powering the JU-06A

The JU-06A can be powered using either AA batteries or via USB. Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting power sources.

  • Battery Power: Insert 6 AA batteries into the battery compartment located on the underside of the unit. The estimated battery life with Ni-MH batteries is approximately 6 hours.
  • USB Power: Connect the supplied USB cable to the Micro USB B port on the rear panel of the JU-06A and to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer.

2.3 Connecting to Other Devices

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 Modes

The JU-06A features two distinct modes, JUNO-60 and JUNO-106, each offering unique sonic characteristics. Use the dedicated switch on the front panel to toggle between these modes. The JUNO-60 mode provides a punchier, more aggressive sound, while the JUNO-106 mode offers a mellower, warmer tone.

3.2 Sound Patches and Banks

The JU-06A comes with 64 + 64 sound patches, organized into 8 patches across 8 banks for each JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 mode. Use the BANK and PATCH buttons to navigate and select your desired sounds. The 7-segment, 3-character LED display shows the current bank and patch number.

3.3 Sequencer

The built-in 16-step sequencer allows you to create and store melodic or rhythmic patterns. Use the START, EDIT, and VALUE buttons in the SEQUENCER section to control playback, edit steps, and adjust values. The sequencer is a powerful tool for live performance and composition.

3.4 Chord Memory

The Chord Memory feature provides 16 slots to store and recall chord progressions. This can be particularly useful for quickly triggering complex chords during live performances or for songwriting. Refer to the detailed manual for instructions on storing and recalling chords.

3.5 Arpeggiator
