5. Operating Instructions

The N-Drive eXtreme supports both a basic mode for direct floppy disk functions and an advanced mode for file management via computer.

5.1. Basic Mode

In Basic Mode, the N-Drive eXtreme functions identically to a standard floppy disk drive. You can perform all typical floppy disk operations directly from your Yamaha DKC55RCD, such as reading, writing, copying, and deleting files on the virtual disks stored on the USB flash drive.

  • Insert the USB flash drive into the emulator.
  • Use the selection buttons or rotary selector on the emulator's front panel to choose a virtual disk. The graphical display will show the virtual disk's name.
  • Operate your Yamaha DKC55RCD as you would with a physical floppy disk.

  • Remove the USB flash drive from the N-Drive eXtreme.
  • Insert the USB flash drive into your computer (PC or MAC).
  • Use the provided Nalbantov software to access and manage the virtual disk images on the USB drive. This includes creating new virtual disks, copying files to and from them, and backing up your data.
  • After managing files, safely eject the USB flash drive from your computer and reinsert it into the N-Drive eXtreme.
