5.2. Wiring the Camera
The camera requires two main connections: video signal and power. The video signal connects to your display unit (monitor or car stereo), and the power connects to your vehicle's reverse light circuit for automatic activation.
- Connect Camera to Extension Cable: Plug the camera's video output (yellow RCA) into the provided 19.6ft extension cable.
- Route Extension Cable: Carefully route the extension cable from the camera's mounting location to your dashboard where your display unit is located. Ensure the cable is secured and away from moving parts or heat sources.
- Connect Power Wires: The camera has red (positive) and black (ground) power wires. Connect the red wire to the positive 12V line of your vehicle's reverse light. Connect the black wire to a suitable ground point on the vehicle chassis. This ensures the camera powers on automatically when the vehicle is put into reverse.
