Setup
1. Charging the Battery
The CRAFTSMAN CMHT77637 is powered by an internal Lithium-Ion battery. Before first use, or when the battery indicator on the display shows low charge, connect the device to a USB power source using the included USB charging cable. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status and full charge.
2. Attaching the Wrist Strap
For added security and to prevent accidental drops, thread the included wrist strap through the loop on the side of the device.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- To power on the device, press the large Measurement Button once. The laser will activate, and the display will show the current measurement mode.
- The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.
2. Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the device is powered on and the laser is active.
- Position the rear edge of the laser measure against your starting point.
- Aim the laser dot at the target point where you want to measure the distance.
- Press the Measurement Button again. The device will emit a short beep, and the measured distance will appear on the display.

3. Understanding the Display
The display shows the measured distance in feet (ft) by default. It also indicates the battery charge level. The accuracy of the measurement is approximately +/- 1/14-inch at 30 ft.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the laser aperture and display are kept clean for optimal performance.
- Storage: Store the laser measure in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: Recharge the Lithium-Ion battery regularly, even if the device is not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
