Setup
1. Charging the Console
Before initial use, fully charge the console using the provided 5V 1.5A U.S. AC Adapter. Connect the adapter to the charging port on the console and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.
2. Inserting a Game Cartridge
- Ensure the console is powered off.
- Gently insert an NES or Famicom game cartridge into the cartridge slot located at the top of the console. Ensure the cartridge is facing the correct direction, with the label typically facing forward.
- Press the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place. Do not force the cartridge.

3. Powering On/Off
- To power on: Press and hold the Power button until the screen illuminates.
- To power off: Press and hold the Power button until the screen turns off.
Operating the Console
1. Handheld Mode
The Retro Champ is designed for portable play. Hold the console comfortably and use the integrated D-pad and action buttons for gameplay. The 7-inch full-color screen provides a clear display.

2. Tabletop Mode

3. TV Mode (HDMI Output)
Connect the Retro Champ to a television or monitor using an HDMI cable (not included). The HDMI port is located on the back of the console.
- Ensure the console is powered off.
- Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the Retro Champ.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI input on your TV or monitor.
- Power on the Retro Champ and select the corresponding HDMI input on your TV.

4. Connecting External Controllers
The Retro Champ supports external controllers for multiplayer gaming or preferred control schemes. The console is compatible with My Arcade Super GamePad wireless controllers.
- Locate the Controller 1 and Controller 2 ports on the back of the console.
- Plug your compatible controllers into the desired ports.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning Game Cartridges
The Retro Champ includes a built-in cleaning kit compartment to help maintain older game cartridges. Regular cleaning can improve game recognition and performance.
- Locate the cleaning kit compartment on the bottom of the console.
- Remove the cleaning tool.
- Follow the instructions provided with the cleaning kit to clean the contacts of your game cartridges.

2. Console Cleaning

Troubleshooting
1. Console Does Not Power On
- Ensure the console is fully charged. Connect the AC adapter and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
- Verify the AC adapter is properly connected to both the console and a working power outlet.
2. Game Does Not Load or Displays Incorrectly
- Ensure the game cartridge is fully and correctly inserted into the slot.
- Remove the cartridge, clean its contacts using the built-in cleaning kit or a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol, and reinsert it.
- Try a different game cartridge to determine if the issue is with the console or the specific cartridge.
3. No Display on TV via HDMI
- Verify the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the console and the TV.
- Ensure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input source.
- Try a different HDMI cable or TV to isolate the problem.
4. External Controllers Not Responding
- Ensure controllers are properly plugged into the correct ports (Controller 1 or Controller 2).
- If using wireless controllers, ensure they are charged and properly paired according to their individual instructions.
- Test controllers with another compatible device if possible.
