- Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive on the mounting bracket.
- Press the bracket firmly onto the windshield for at least 30 seconds to ensure a secure bond.
- Adjust the camera angle to ensure the road ahead is clearly visible in the camera's view.
3. Connecting the Rear Camera
- Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield, ensuring a clear view.
- Connect one end of the rear camera connection cable to the rear camera.

- Plug the other end of the power cable into your vehicle's 12V cigarette lighter socket.
- Route the power cable neatly to avoid interference with driving controls.
5. Initial Power On

Operation Guide
Basic Recording
- The QA100Elite automatically begins continuous recording when powered on.
- Footage is saved in short segments (e.g., 1 minute) and overwritten oldest first when the memory card is full (Loop Recording).
- The REC LED will blink during recording.
Parking Surveillance Mode
The dash cam can monitor your vehicle while parked, provided it receives continuous power (e.g., via hardwiring kit, sold separately, or if your 12V socket is always on).
- Motion Detection: Records when motion is detected around the vehicle.
- Impact Detection: Records when an impact is detected.
- The dash cam automatically switches to Parking Mode when the vehicle's ignition is turned off.
Event Recording (G-Sensor)
- The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or changes in vehicle movement (e.g., collisions, hard braking).
- When an event is detected, the dash cam saves the current footage segment into a protected folder, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.
- You can also manually trigger an event recording by pressing the REC button on the unit.
Using the THINKWARE CONNECT App (Wi-Fi)
- Download the "THINKWARE CONNECT" app from your smartphone's app store.
- On the dash cam, press the Wi-Fi button to activate Wi-Fi mode. The Wi-Fi LED will illuminate.
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (e.g., "Thinkware_XXXXXX"). The default password is "123456789".
- Open the THINKWARE CONNECT app. You can now view live footage, download recorded videos, change settings, and update firmware.
GPS Functionality
The integrated GPS module records your vehicle's speed and location data, which can be viewed during video playback using the THINKWARE PC Viewer software or the mobile app. The GPS LED indicates signal acquisition.
Maintenance
Formatting the MicroSD Card
Regularly formatting the MicroSD card (at least once a month) is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent recording errors. This can be done via the THINKWARE CONNECT app or the THINKWARE PC Viewer software.
- Via App: Connect to the dash cam via Wi-Fi, navigate to settings, and select "Format SD Card."
- Via PC: Remove the MicroSD card, insert it into your computer using the adapter, and use the THINKWARE PC Viewer software to format it.
Cleaning the Device
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the dash cam.
- For lenses, use a lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches. Do not use harsh chemicals.
Firmware Updates
Keep your dash cam's firmware updated to ensure the latest features and bug fixes. Firmware updates can be performed via the THINKWARE CONNECT app or by downloading the firmware file from the THINKWARE website and installing it via the MicroSD card.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your THINKWARE QA100Elite, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Dash cam does not power on. | No power supply; faulty power cable; loose connection. | Check power cable connection to the dash cam and vehicle's 12V socket. Test the 12V socket with another device. Try a different power cable if available. |
| Recording stops or errors occur. | MicroSD card error; full MicroSD card; incompatible MicroSD card. | Format the MicroSD card. Replace the MicroSD card if errors persist (use a high-endurance card). Ensure the card is genuine and compatible. |
| Wi-Fi connection issues. | Incorrect password; Wi-Fi not activated on dash cam; app issues. | Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the dash cam (Wi-Fi LED on). Verify the password ("123456789"). Restart the app and dash cam. |
| GPS signal not acquired. | Poor satellite visibility; dash cam location. | Ensure the dash cam has a clear view of the sky. Move the vehicle to an open area. Allow a few minutes for signal acquisition. |
| Video quality is poor. | Dirty lens; protective film still on lens; low light conditions. | Clean the camera lens. Remove any protective film. Ensure Night Vision is enabled if applicable. |
