1.3.1 USB Wired Connection
Connect the scanner directly to your computer using the USB cable. In this mode, the scanner functions as a wired device and charges simultaneously. No additional drivers are typically required for basic scanning functionality.
1.3.2 2.4G Wireless Connection
Plug the 2.4G wireless USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer or device. The scanner will automatically pair with the dongle. This mode offers a transmission distance of up to 30m (99ft) in obstructed environments and up to 100m (330ft) in barrier-free environments.

1.3.3 Bluetooth Connection
To connect via Bluetooth, ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled. Power on the scanner and activate its Bluetooth pairing mode (refer to the full programming guide for specific barcode scans to enter pairing mode). Search for "NETUM Bluetooth" on your device's Bluetooth settings and pair. The transmission distance is up to 10m (33ft) in obstructed environments and up to 50m (164ft) in barrier-free environments.

2. Operating Instructions
2.1 Scanning Modes
The scanner supports three primary scanning modes:
- Key Trigger Mode: Press the trigger button to activate the scan beam and read a barcode.
- Auto-induction Mode: The scanner automatically detects a barcode within its field of view and activates the scan beam.
- Continuous Mode: The scan beam remains continuously active, allowing for rapid scanning of multiple barcodes without repeatedly pressing the trigger.
Refer to the full programming guide for barcodes to switch between these modes.
2.2 Data Upload Modes
The scanner offers two methods for uploading scanned data:
- Instant Upload Mode: Barcodes are synchronously uploaded to your connected device immediately after scanning.
- Storage Mode: Barcodes are stored in the scanner's built-in memory (up to 5000 barcodes). You can then upload all stored data to your device in a batch at a later time.

2.3 Barcode Programming Features
The NT-W6-X scanner can be programmed to customize barcode output:
- Add Terminator: Append characters like Tab or Enter after each scanned barcode.
- Add Prefix/Suffix: Add custom characters before or after the scanned data.
- Hide Character: Conceal specific characters within the scanned data.
These features are configured by scanning specific programming barcodes found in the comprehensive programming guide.

2.4 Scanning Performance
Equipped with an advanced CCD sensor, this scanner is capable of reading 1D linear barcodes directly from various surfaces, including computer screens, mobile phone displays, and through glass or plastic shrink wrap. This makes it ideal for diverse inventory and POS applications.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning the Scanner
To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean the scanner's lens and exterior. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the scanner.
3.2 Battery Care
The scanner is equipped with a Lithium Ion battery. To prolong battery life:
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Store the scanner in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
- Charge the scanner regularly, even if not in constant use, to prevent deep discharge.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Scanner Not Responding
- Ensure the scanner is charged.
- Verify the connection mode (USB, 2.4G, or Bluetooth) is correctly set up and active.
- If using wireless modes, check that the scanner is within range of the receiver/device.
- Restart the scanner and the connected device.
4.2 Barcodes Not Scanning
- Ensure the barcode is clean, undamaged, and clearly visible.
- Adjust the distance and angle of the scanner to the barcode.
- Confirm the scanner is in the correct scanning mode (e.g., Key Trigger, Auto-induction).
- Check if the barcode type is supported by the scanner (this model supports 1D linear barcodes).
- Clean the scanner's lens if it appears dirty.
4.3 Data Transmission Issues
- For 2.4G wireless, ensure the USB dongle is securely plugged in.
- For Bluetooth, re-pair the scanner with your device.
- If in Storage Mode, ensure you have initiated the batch upload process.
- Verify that the application on your device is ready to receive input from the scanner.
4.4 Unwanted Beeping
Some users report the beeping sound cannot be turned down or off directly from the device. Refer to the full programming guide for any available silent mode or volume adjustment barcodes.
4.5 Compatibility Issues (e.g., Square, Chrome OS)
As noted in the specifications, this scanner is not compatible with Google Chrome OS or Square POS systems. Please ensure your operating environment meets the compatibility requirements.
