Portable Electric Vehicle Charging Solution

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ZENCAR EV Charger EVSE. This portable charging solution is designed to provide efficient and safe charging for your electric vehicle. It features a Schuko plug for connection to a standard 230V outlet and a Type 2 connector for your vehicle, offering adjustable current settings from 6A to 16A. The integrated LCD display provides real-time charging information, and a timer function allows for scheduled charging.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before using the charger. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded and rated for the charger's specifications (230V, up to 16A).
  • Do not use the charger if the cable or connectors are damaged.
  • Keep the charger away from flammable materials and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not immerse the control box or connectors in water. While the cable is shockproof and waterproof (IP65 rated), the plug and control box should be protected from direct water exposure during charging.
  • Always disconnect the charger from the power source before cleaning or maintenance.
  • The charger features 12 protection mechanisms, including over-temperature protection. If high temperatures are detected, the current will be automatically reduced or temporarily cut off to prevent damage.

3. Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your ZENCAR EV Charger:

  1. Unpack the Charger: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the charger for any visible damage.
  2. Connect to Power: Insert the Schuko plug firmly into a standard 230V AC grounded wall outlet. The LCD display on the control box should illuminate.
  3. Prepare Vehicle: Ensure your electric vehicle is ready for charging. Open the charging port cover on your vehicle.
  4. Connect to Vehicle: Insert the Type 2 connector into your vehicle's charging port. Ensure it clicks securely into place.

4. Operating Instructions

The ZENCAR EV Charger offers an intuitive LCD display and adjustable settings for optimal charging.

4.1 LCD Display and Information

The informative LCD screen allows you to monitor the entire charging process in real-time. It displays:

  • Charging Time
  • Controller Temperature
  • Charging Current (Amperage)
  • Voltage
  • Energy Charged (kWh)

4.2 Adjusting Charging Current

You can flexibly adjust the charging current of the Type 2 charging cable according to your needs. Choose the current intensity between 6A, 8A, 10A, 12A, and 16A. This can be done automatically or manually via the control box.

4.3 Timer Function

Plan your charging efficiently using the integrated timer function. Refer to the on-screen menu for setting specific charging start or end times.

4.4 Charging Process

Once connected to both the power outlet and the vehicle, the charger will initiate the charging process. The LCD display will show the current status. Charging will stop automatically when the vehicle battery is full or if a safety issue is detected.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your ZENCAR EV Charger.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the control box and cables. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the charger in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided cable protection bag to keep the cable tidy and protected.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the cable, plugs, and control box for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. If any damage is found, discontinue use and contact customer support.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ZENCAR EV Charger, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
