3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present: the digital piano unit, wooden legs, music stand, and power adapter.

3.2 Assembling the Wooden Legs

Attach the wooden legs to the main piano unit using the provided hardware. Ensure they are securely fastened to provide a stable base for the instrument.

3.3 Power Supply

The digital piano can be powered in two ways:

  1. AC Adapter: Connect the included power adapter to the DC IN socket on the piano and then to a standard wall outlet.
  2. Batteries: For portable use, insert 6 x 1.5V R6/AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the underside of the piano. Ensure correct polarity.

Note: Disconnect the AC adapter when using batteries, and remove batteries if the instrument will not be used for an extended period.

3.4 Music Stand

Insert the music stand into the designated slots on the top panel of the piano.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER ON/OFF button to turn the instrument on or off. The display will illuminate when powered on.

4.2 Volume Control

Use the GENERAL VOLUME controls (usually +/- buttons or a dial) to adjust the overall sound level.

4.3 Selecting Sounds (Tones)

The piano offers 128 different sounds, including 3 dedicated piano sound stamps. To select a sound:

  1. Press the SOUNDS button.
  2. Use the number pad or +/- buttons to enter the desired sound number. The selected sound will be shown on the display.

4.4 Playing Rhythms

The instrument includes 128 rhythms. To start a rhythm:

  1. Press the RHYTHMS button.
  2. Use the number pad or +/- buttons to select a rhythm.
  3. Press START/STOP to begin or end the rhythm.
  4. Adjust the tempo using the TEMPO +/- buttons.

4.5 Rhythmic Pads

Use the 8 pads to play rhythmic instruments or animal sounds. Simply press a pad to activate its assigned sound.

4.6 Pre-recorded Songs

The piano has 30 pre-recorded songs. To play a song:

  1. Press the SONGS button.
  2. Select a song number using the number pad or +/- buttons.
  3. Press PLAY to start the song. Press again to stop.

4.7 Chord Management

  • Single/Finger Chord: Activates automatic chord accompaniment. Refer to the manual's chord chart for specific fingerings.
  • Chord Off: Disables automatic chord accompaniment, allowing for full keyboard play.
  • Bass Chord: Engages a bass line accompaniment with chords.

4.8 Learning Levels

The instrument features 2 learning levels to assist with practice. Consult the detailed instructions in the full manual for how to utilize these modes effectively.

4.9 Sequencer (Record & Playback)

The sequencer allows you to record your performances and play them back:

  1. Press the RECORD button to start recording.
  2. Play your desired melody.
  3. Press PLAY to listen to your recorded performance.

4.10 Metronome

Press the METRONOME button to activate a steady click for timing practice. Adjust tempo with TEMPO +/-.

4.11 Transposer

Use the TRANSPOSER function to change the pitch of the keyboard without changing your fingering. This is useful for playing in different keys.

4.12 Effects (Vibrato, Sustain)

Activate VIBRATO for a wavering pitch effect or SUSTAIN to prolong the sound of notes after the keys are released.

4.13 Other Functions

  • Fill-in: Adds a short rhythmic variation during rhythm playback.
  • Sync: Starts a rhythm automatically when you play a key or chord.
  • Split: Divides the keyboard into two sections, allowing different sounds or functions on each side.

5. Connectivity and Media

5.1 USB Flash Drive (MP3 Playback)

The digital piano supports MP3 playback from a USB flash drive. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 songs into the USB socket. Use the dedicated controls for MP3 songs (play, pause, next, previous) to manage playback.

5.2 Microphone Input

Connect a condenser microphone (not included) to the MICROPHONE socket to sing along with your playing or the built-in songs.

5.3 Headphone/Hi-Fi Output

Connect headphones to the HEADPHONE/HI-FI socket for private practice. This output can also be used to connect the piano to an external amplifier or sound system.
