1.1. What's in the Box
- MOTOPOWER MP0514A-UK Tester Body

2. Safety Information
- Always wear appropriate eye protection when working with vehicle batteries.
- Ensure proper ventilation in the work area.
- Avoid contact with battery acid.
- The device features reverse connection and over-voltage protection for safe operation.
- Do not use the tester if it appears damaged.
3. Setup and Connection
The MOTOPOWER MP0514A-UK is designed for easy connection to 12V vehicle batteries and charging systems.
- Ensure the vehicle engine is off before connecting the tester for battery status check.
- Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the 12V battery.
- Connect the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the 12V battery.
- The digital display will illuminate, showing the current battery voltage. If connected in reverse, a "REVERSE" LED indicator will light up.

4. Operation
4.1. Battery Status Test
To check the battery's state of charge:
- Ensure the tester is connected correctly to the battery terminals with the vehicle engine off.
- Read the voltage displayed on the digital screen.
- Observe the LED indicators on the left side of the tester (labeled "STATE OF CHARGE"):
- FULL: Battery is fully charged.
- MEDIUM: Battery has a medium charge.
- LOW: Battery charge is low.
- EMPTY: Battery is discharged and may need charging or replacement.

4.2. Alternator Output Test
To check the alternator's charging performance:
- Ensure the tester is connected correctly to the battery terminals.
- Start the vehicle engine and let it run at idle.
- Observe the LED indicators on the right side of the tester (labeled "Alternator"):
- HIGH: Alternator output is too high.
- GOOD: Alternator is charging correctly.
- DEAD: Alternator is not charging or output is too low.
- The digital display will show the charging voltage.

5. Troubleshooting
- No Display/No LEDs:
- Check if the clamps are securely connected to the battery terminals.
- Ensure the battery has at least 4V DC. If voltage is below 4V, the display will show "LO".
- Verify correct polarity. If connected in reverse, the "REVERSE" LED should light up.
- Display shows "LO":
- The battery voltage is below the measurable range of 4V DC. The battery is severely discharged or faulty.
- Display shows "HI":
- The voltage is above the measurable range of 20V DC. This indicates an over-voltage condition, potentially from a faulty charging system.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure clamps are clean and have good contact with battery terminals.
- Test on a different 12V battery to confirm device functionality.
6. Maintenance
- Clean the tester body and clamps with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
- Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and corrosive materials.
- Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
- Regularly inspect the cables and clamps for any signs of damage.
