3.3 Balancing the Gimbal
Proper balancing is crucial for stable footage and efficient motor operation. The 3XM allows for precise adjustment of each axis.

- Roll Axis Balance: Adjust the horizontal arm until the camera remains level when the gimbal is held upright.
- Pan Axis Balance: Adjust the vertical arm until the camera remains stable when the gimbal is rotated horizontally.
The included quick storage case is designed to retain individual axis positions, which can save setup time for subsequent uses.

4.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button on the handle to turn the gimbal on or off. Ensure the gimbal is balanced before powering on.
4.2 Handle Modes
The 3XM features a unique swivel handle allowing for two primary handling modes:
- Upright Mode: Suitable for high-angle and medium-angle filming.
- Carry Mode: Ideal for low-angle filming.
To switch between modes, turn the button on the handle. This allows for comfortable tracking of low-moving objects or achieving low 360° shots with reduced wrist strain.

4.3 Shooting Modes
The 3XM offers three distinct shooting modes, selectable via the Mode/On side button:
- Universal Follow Mode (Pink Indicator): Provides smooth camera movements in the direction you aim. Use this mode for circling subjects or dynamic camera movements following a subject.
- Locked-Down Mode (Blue Indicator): Keeps the camera locked on a subject while the gimbal moves. This mode can replicate movements similar to a jib or slider.
- Horizontal Follow Mode (Red Indicator): Provides smooth horizontal movement based on the gimbal's panning. Use this mode for dynamic panning movements around corners.
The directional button can be used in conjunction with these modes for precise control.

5. Maintenance
- Keep the gimbal clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the gimbal to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- Store the gimbal in its quick storage case when not in use to protect it and maintain axis positions.
- Regularly check all screws and connections to ensure they are secure.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Benro 3XM gimbal, consider the following:
- Gimbal not powering on: Ensure batteries are fully charged and correctly inserted.
- Unstable footage: Re-check the camera balance on all three axes. Ensure the camera weight is within the specified load capacity.
- Motors vibrating or making noise: This often indicates improper balancing. Power off the gimbal, re-balance the camera, and then power on again.
- App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the gimbal is powered on. Try restarting both devices.
- Camera control not working: Verify that the correct camera control cable is connected and that your camera model is supported for direct control.
