4.2 Exhaust Air Operation (Ducted Mode)

In exhaust air operation, cooking fumes are extracted and discharged outside through an exhaust hose.

  1. Install the non-return flap into the exhaust outlet.
  2. Connect a suitable exhaust hose (not included) to the outlet and route it to the outside.
  3. Ensure the hose is as straight and short as possible to maximize extraction efficiency.

For recirculation mode, the air is filtered through an activated carbon filter and then returned to the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible.

  1. Purchase and install the activated carbon filter (item number 10033473). Refer to the filter's instructions for specific installation steps.
  2. Install the cover cap for recirculation mode over the exhaust outlet.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your cooker hood. Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before performing any maintenance.

6.1 Cleaning the Aluminum Grease Filters

The aluminum grease filters capture grease particles from cooking fumes. They should be cleaned regularly, typically every 2-4 weeks depending on usage, to maintain efficiency and prevent fire hazards.

  1. Removal: Locate the release latches on the grease filters. Push the latch and pull the filter downwards to remove it.
  2. Cleaning: The aluminum grease filters are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand in hot water with a mild detergent. Ensure they are completely dry before reinstallation.
  3. Reinstallation: Insert the dry filter back into its slot and push until the latch clicks into place.

6.2 Replacing the Activated Carbon Filter (Recirculation Mode Only)

If your hood is operating in recirculation mode, the activated carbon filter removes odors from the air. These filters cannot be cleaned and must be replaced periodically, typically every 3-6 months depending on usage.

  1. Removal: Remove the aluminum grease filters first. The activated carbon filters are usually located behind them, attached to the motor housing. Twist or unclip them to remove.
  2. Replacement: Install new activated carbon filters (item number 10033473) by aligning them and twisting or clipping them into place.
  3. Reinstallation: Reinstall the aluminum grease filters.

6.3 Cleaning the Exterior

Clean the exterior surfaces of the hood with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or steel wool, as these can damage the brushed stainless steel and acrylic glass finish.
