4.1 Controls and Connections

  • Display: Large LCD display for time, radio frequency, and track information.
  • Power/Source Button: Turns the unit on/off and switches between input sources (CD, DAB+, FM, USB).
  • Volume +/- Buttons: Adjusts the audio output level.

5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC IN jack on the back of the unit.
  2. Plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet.

5.2 Battery Backup Installation

The unit features a battery backup function to maintain time and alarm settings during a power outage. Batteries are not included.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2 x AAA, check compartment for exact type) according to the polarity markings (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.3 Antenna Setup

For optimal DAB+ and FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna located at the back of the unit. Adjust its position for the best signal.

5.4 Initial Power On and Automatic Time Setting

Upon first power-on, the unit will typically attempt to synchronize its clock with the DAB+ signal. Ensure the antenna is extended.

  1. Press the Power/Source button to turn on the unit.
  2. The display will show a scanning message as it searches for DAB+ stations and time signals.
  3. Once synchronized, the correct time will be displayed.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power/Source button.
  • Volume Adjustment: Use the Volume +/- buttons.
  • Source Selection: Press the Source button repeatedly to cycle through CD, DAB+, FM, and USB modes.

6.2 Radio Operation (DAB+/FM)

  1. Switch to DAB+ or FM mode using the Source button.
  2. Auto Scan: In DAB+ mode, the unit will automatically scan for available stations upon first use. In FM mode, press and hold the Scan button to auto-scan.
  3. Manual Tuning: Use the Tune +/- buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
  4. Saving Presets: To save a station, tune to the desired station, then press and hold the Preset button. Use Tune +/- to select a preset number (1-20), then press Preset again to confirm.
  5. Recalling Presets: Press the Preset button briefly, then use Tune +/- to select the desired preset.
  6. RDS (FM only): When available, RDS (Radio Data System) will display station information like station name or program type.

6.3 CD Player Operation

  1. Open the CD compartment cover.
  2. Insert a CD (CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3-CD) with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the CD compartment cover.
  4. Switch to CD mode using the Source button. The CD will begin playing automatically.
  5. Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button.
  6. Skip Tracks: Use the Skip Forward/Backward buttons.
  7. Fast Forward/Rewind: Press and hold the Skip Forward/Backward buttons.
  8. Repeat/Random Play: Press the Play Mode button repeatedly to cycle through repeat track, repeat all, or random play modes.

6.4 USB Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 files into the USB port.
  2. Switch to USB mode using the Source button. Playback will start automatically.
  3. Use the Play/Pause, Skip, and Play Mode buttons as described for CD operation.

6.5 Alarm Functions

The unit features two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).

  1. Setting an Alarm: Press and hold either the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button.
  2. Use the Tune +/- buttons to set the alarm hour, then press the Alarm button to confirm.
  3. Repeat for the alarm minute.
  4. Select the alarm source (CD, Radio, or Buzzer) using Tune +/-, then press the Alarm button to confirm. If Radio is selected, choose a preset station.
  5. Press the Alarm button again to activate/deactivate the alarm. An alarm icon will appear on the display when active.
  6. Snooze Function: When an alarm sounds, press the Snooze button to temporarily silence it for a few minutes. The alarm will sound again after the snooze period.
  7. Stopping an Alarm: Press any button other than Snooze to turn off the alarm for the day. It will reactivate the next day if not deactivated.
  8. Sleep Timer: Press the Sleep button (if available, or check manual for combined button) repeatedly to set a sleep timer (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes). The unit will turn off automatically after the set time.

6.6 Clock Settings

If the automatic time setting via DAB+ is not desired or available, you can set the time manually.

  1. In standby mode, press and hold the Menu/Info button.
  2. Navigate to 'Time Set' or similar option using Tune +/- and confirm with Menu/Info.
  3. Set the hour and minute using Tune +/-, confirming each with Menu/Info.

6.7 USB Charging

The USB port can also be used to charge compatible mobile devices.

  1. Connect your mobile device's USB charging cable to the USB port on the alarm clock radio.
  2. Ensure the alarm clock radio is powered on or in standby mode.
  3. Charging will begin automatically.

6.8 Headphone Use

To listen privately, plug standard 3.5mm headphones into the headphone jack. The speakers will automatically mute.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Clean dirty CDs with a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping from the center outwards.
  • Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, disconnect it from the power supply and remove the backup batteries.
