- Electrical Connection: Connect the power cord to a dedicated 230V, 50Hz, single-phase grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the power supply matches the oven's requirements (2000W).
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, heat the oven to 150°C for about 30 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this process. Allow to cool completely before wiping the interior with a dry cloth.

Figure 3: Interior view of the Maxima Compact Pizza Oven with the door open, showing the stone baking plate and heating elements.
- Power On: Plug the oven into the power outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Preheating:
- Turn the top and bottom temperature control knobs to your desired baking temperature (e.g., 250-350°C for pizza). The oven can reach up to 350°C.
- Allow the oven to preheat for at least 20-30 minutes. The indicator lights next to the temperature knobs will turn off once the set temperature is reached.
- Baking:
- Carefully open the oven door.
- Place your pizza, bread, or cake directly onto the stone baking plate using a pizza peel or appropriate baking tools.
- Close the door securely.
- Monitor cooking progress through the viewing window. You can turn on the interior light using the dedicated switch on the control panel.
- Baking times will vary depending on the food item and desired crispness. For pizza, typical baking time is 4-5 minutes.
- Temperature Adjustment: The top and bottom heating elements can be adjusted independently. For a crispier crust, you might set the bottom temperature slightly higher. For even baking, ensure both are set appropriately.
- After Baking: Carefully remove the cooked item using appropriate tools. Close the oven door.
- Power Off: Once finished, turn both temperature control knobs to the "OFF" position and unplug the oven from the power outlet.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Maxima Compact Pizza Oven.
- Daily Cleaning (Exterior):
- Ensure the oven is unplugged and completely cool.
- Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can scratch the surface.
- Interior Cleaning:
- Allow the oven to cool completely.
- Remove any loose food debris from the stone plate and interior.
- For stubborn stains on the stone plate, gently scrape with a plastic scraper. Do not use water or detergents on the stone plate, as it is porous and can absorb liquids, leading to cracking.
- Wipe the metal interior surfaces with a damp cloth.
- Stone Plate Care: The stone plate is designed to withstand high temperatures. Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., placing frozen food directly on a very hot stone) to prevent cracking. Do not wash the stone plate with water.
- Storage: If storing the oven for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and stored in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Oven does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outage; faulty power cord/outlet; temperature knobs set to OFF. | Check power connection; verify power supply; inspect cord/outlet; ensure knobs are set to a temperature. |
| Uneven baking. | Insufficient preheating; incorrect temperature settings (top/bottom); food placed incorrectly. | Allow full preheat; adjust top/bottom temperatures; ensure food is centered on stone. |
| Oven smokes during initial use. | Manufacturing residues burning off. | This is normal for first use. Ensure good ventilation. Smoke should dissipate after initial burn-off. |
| Stone plate cracks. | Sudden temperature changes; impact damage. | Avoid placing cold items on a hot stone; handle with care. Replacement stone plates may be available from Maxima. |
