4. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your FENVi T919 adapter:
- Keep it Clean: Periodically clean the interior of your computer case to prevent dust buildup on the adapter, which can affect performance and heat dissipation.
- Ensure Airflow: Make sure there is adequate airflow around the adapter within your computer case.
- Antenna Position: Adjust the antennas for the best signal reception.
- Software Updates: Keep your operating system and drivers (for Windows) updated to benefit from performance improvements and bug fixes.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Wi-Fi or Bluetooth Not Detected
- Check Physical Connection: Ensure the adapter is securely seated in the PCI-E slot and the USB header cable is firmly connected to both the adapter and the motherboard.
- Antennas: Verify that all four antennas are properly attached.
- Drivers (Windows): Confirm that the correct drivers have been installed. Reinstall if necessary.
- BIOS/UEFI Settings: Check your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the PCI-E slot is enabled and there are no conflicts with other devices.
5.2 Bluetooth Not Working on macOS
- USB Header Connection: The Bluetooth functionality relies on the internal USB header connection. Ensure it is correctly connected.
- Motherboard's Native Bluetooth: If your motherboard has built-in Bluetooth, it might conflict with the adapter's Bluetooth. It is recommended to disable the motherboard's native Bluetooth in the BIOS/UEFI settings for optimal performance with the FENVi T919.
5.3 macOS System Wakes from Sleep Automatically
- This can sometimes occur due to the internal USB connector for Bluetooth. To resolve this, you may need to configure the USB port the connector is attached to as 'Internal' in your macOS USB SSDT or kext configuration. This helps the system manage sleep states correctly.
5.4 Slow Wi-Fi Speeds
- Antenna Position: Adjust antenna orientation for better signal strength.
- Router Distance/Obstructions: Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or reduce physical obstructions.
- Router Settings: Ensure your router is configured for 802.11ac and dual-band operation.
- Interference: Other wireless devices or networks can cause interference. Try changing your router's Wi-Fi channel.
