5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Automatic Call Blocking
The KX-TGA710B comes with a pre-programmed database of 14,000 robocaller and telemarketer numbers. Calls from these numbers will be automatically blocked without ringing your phone.
5.2. Manual Call Blocking
You can manually block up to 2,000 additional numbers. When an unwanted call comes in:
- While the phone is ringing or during a call, simply press the large, prominent BLOCK CALL button on the unit.
- The number will be instantly blocked and added to your block list.
5.3. Building Your Allowed Caller Database
You can store up to 100 numbers of friends, family, and other trusted contacts in your allowed list. When a number from this list calls, a green LED will blink on the call blocker unit, indicating it's a trusted call.
To add numbers to the allowed list, refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual for specific menu navigation.
5.4. Talking Caller ID
The unit features an advanced bilingual talking Caller ID. It announces the name or number of incoming callers in either English or Spanish, allowing you to identify callers from across the room without needing to check the display.
5.5. Reviewing Blocked and Allowed Lists
Use the BLOCK LIST (up arrow) and CALLER LIST (down arrow) buttons to navigate and review the numbers stored in each list.
6. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Panasonic KX-TGA710B Call Blocker:
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
- Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to a working outlet.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your call blocker, try the following common solutions:
- No Power/Display:
- Check if the AC adapter is properly connected to the unit and the power outlet.
- Ensure the power outlet is functional.
- Calls Not Being Blocked:
- Verify that your landline service includes Caller ID. The call blocker relies on Caller ID information.
- Ensure the call blocker is correctly connected between the wall jack and your phone.
- Check if the number is already in your allowed list.
- No Dial Tone:
- Check all cable connections. Ensure the phone is plugged into the "TEL" port and the wall into the "LINE" port.
- Test your phone by connecting it directly to the wall jack to rule out a phone line issue.
For more complex issues, please refer to the comprehensive troubleshooting section in the full user manual or contact Panasonic customer support.
