Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Vocal-Star VS-400 karaoke player:
- Connect to TV:
- HDMI Connection (Recommended): Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied) from the HDMI output port on the VS-400 to an HDMI input port on your television. Select the corresponding HDMI input on your TV.
- RCA Connection: Connect the supplied red, white, and yellow RCA cables from the AV output ports on the VS-400 to the corresponding AV input ports on your television. Select the AV input on your TV.
- Connect Microphones: Plug the wired microphones into the MIC 1 and MIC 2 input jacks on the front of the VS-400 unit.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cable into the DC IN port on the back of the VS-400, then plug the other end into a suitable wall outlet. Ensure the correct power adapter is used if necessary.
- Power On: Press the POWER button on the front of the unit or on the remote control to turn on the player.

Operating Instructions
Disc Playback (CD, CDG, DVD, VCD)
- Open the disc tray by pressing the EJECT button on the unit or remote control.
- Place a compatible karaoke disc (CD, CDG, DVD, or VCD) onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
- Close the disc tray. The player will automatically begin reading the disc.
- For CDG discs, lyrics will appear on your connected TV screen and change color to indicate when to sing.
- Use the PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, NEXT, and PREVIOUS buttons on the unit or remote control to manage playback.
USB MP3 Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 audio files into the USB port on the front of the VS-400 unit.
- The player should automatically detect the USB drive and display its contents on the TV screen. If not, use the SOURCE button on the remote to select USB input.
- Navigate through your files using the remote control's arrow keys and select an MP3 file to play.
Microphone Control
- MIC VOL: Adjust the microphone volume using the dedicated knob on the front panel.
- ECHO: Adjust the echo effect for the microphones using the dedicated knob on the front panel. The unit features a 14-step echo control.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Disc Care: Handle discs by their edges. Keep them clean and free from scratches. Store discs in their cases when not in use.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, disconnect it from the power supply and store it in a cool, dry place.
