4. Product Overview

5. Setup
5.1 Placement
Place the sound bar on a flat, stable surface in front of your television, or mount it on the wall using the included wall mount kit. Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the sound bar for optimal sound delivery.

5.2 Connecting to Your TV
The recommended connection method is HDMI ARC for the best audio quality and control integration.
- HDMI ARC Connection:
- Connect one end of the included HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on your sound bar.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on your television. This port is usually labeled "HDMI ARC" or "HDMI IN (ARC)".
- Ensure your TV's HDMI-CEC feature (often called Anynet+, Bravia Sync, SimpLink, etc.) is enabled in your TV settings.
- Optical Connection (Alternative):
- If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC port, connect the included optical cable from the OPTICAL OUT port on your TV to the OPTICAL IN port on the sound bar.
- You may need to adjust your TV's audio output settings to "Optical" or "PCM".
5.3 Power Connection
Connect the power cord to the sound bar's power input, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.
5.4 Initial Setup and Remote Pairing
- Once powered on, the sound bar will guide you through the initial Fire TV setup process on your connected television.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Wi-Fi network and log in to your Amazon account.
- The Voice Remote with Alexa should automatically pair with the sound bar. If not, press and hold the Home button on the remote for 10 seconds until the LED indicator flashes amber rapidly.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the Power button on the remote or the sound bar.
- Volume Control: Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons on the remote.
- Mute: Press the Mute button on the remote to temporarily silence the sound.
- Input Selection: Use the Input button on the remote or the sound bar to switch between HDMI ARC, Optical, and Bluetooth inputs.
6.2 Sound Modes
The sound bar offers three optimized sound modes to enhance your listening experience:
- Movie Mode: Enhances dialogue clarity and provides a wider soundstage for cinematic content.
- Music Mode: Optimizes audio for music playback, delivering balanced highs, mids, and lows.
- News Mode: Focuses on vocal clarity, making spoken content easier to understand.
Press the dedicated sound mode button on your remote to cycle through these options.
6.3 Fire TV Functionality
With Fire TV built-in, you can access a wide range of streaming services and apps directly through the sound bar.

- Navigate the Fire TV interface using the directional pad and select buttons on your Voice Remote.
- Download and install apps from the Appstore.
- Access your Prime Video library, Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Hulu, and many other services (subscriptions may be required).
6.4 Voice Control with Alexa
The included Voice Remote with Alexa allows for convenient voice control of your sound bar and Fire TV features.

- Press and hold the Microphone button on the remote.
- Speak your command clearly. Examples:
- "Alexa, play [movie title] on Prime Video."
- "Alexa, open Netflix."
- "Alexa, turn up the volume."
- "Alexa, what's the weather?"
- "Alexa, play music."
6.5 Bluetooth Connectivity
You can stream audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet) to the sound bar.
- Press the Bluetooth button on the remote or the sound bar to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The indicator light on the sound bar will flash.
- On your device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "TCL Alto 8+" from the list of devices to pair.
- Once paired, the indicator light will become solid, and you can play audio from your device through the sound bar.
7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sound bar.
