5.3 Insulation Resistance Testing
The IRT807 offers insulation resistance testing at 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V, and 1000V, with a range of 0.01MΩ to 2GΩ.
- Ensure the circuit under test is de-energized and safely discharged.
- Connect the insulation test probe (red) to the "INSULATION" jack and the black lead to the "COM" jack.
- Connect the test probes to the circuit under test.
- Rotate the selector switch to the desired insulation test voltage (e.g., "INSULATION 1000V").
- Press the TEST button to initiate the test. The test voltage will be applied, and the insulation resistance will be displayed.
- Release the TEST button to stop the test.

5.4 Voltage Testing (AC/DC)
The tester can measure voltage up to 1000V AC/DC.
- Rotate the selector switch to the "V~" (AC Voltage) or "V-" (DC Voltage) position.
- Connect the red test lead to the "VΩ" jack and the black test lead to the "COM" jack.
- Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component to measure voltage.
- The voltage reading will be displayed on the LCD. Use the SELECT button to toggle between AC and DC if on a combined range.
5.5 Resistance and Continuity Testing
- Rotate the selector switch to the "Ω" (Resistance) position.
- Connect the red test lead to the "VΩ" jack and the black test lead to the "COM" jack.
- Connect the test leads across the component to measure resistance.
- For continuity, the tester will emit an audible tone if resistance is below a certain threshold.
5.6 PI/DAR Test
The Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR) tests are used to assess the condition of insulation over time.
- Perform steps 1-3 of Insulation Resistance Testing (Section 5.3).
- Rotate the selector switch to an insulation test voltage.
- Press the PI/DAR button. The tester will automatically perform the timed measurements and calculate the PI and DAR values.
5.7 Other Functions
