2. Safety Information

Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the appliance:

• Do not immerse the power base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
• Ensure the kettle is placed on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface away from the edge of the countertop.
• Do not operate the kettle without water to prevent boil-dry damage. The appliance features automatic boil-dry protection.
• Always handle the kettle by its heat-resistant handle, especially when hot.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Unplug the kettle from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

4. Setup

Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the tea maker and its components.
2. Wash the glass kettle, lid, and stainless steel infuser with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Wipe the power base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
4. For the first use, fill the kettle with water to the maximum level, boil it, and then discard the water. Repeat this process 1-2 times to remove any manufacturing residues.

Placement

Place the power base on a dry, flat, and stable surface. Ensure the power cord is not dangling or in contact with hot surfaces.

5. Operation

Adding Water and Tea

1. Remove the lid and infuser from the kettle.
2. Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the minimum (MIN) or above the maximum (MAX) fill lines indicated on the glass.
3. If brewing loose leaf tea, add your desired amount of tea leaves into the removable stainless steel infuser.
4. Place the infuser back into the kettle, then secure the lid.

Temperature Settings and Brewing

The BUYDEEM K2423 offers 5 preset temperature settings optimized for various tea types:

To begin brewing:

1. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
2. Place the kettle onto the power base.
3. Press the desired temperature button (e.g., "Green" for 175°F). The button will illuminate, and heating will begin.
4. Once the target temperature is reached, the kettle will beep, and the heating element will turn off. If a default steeping time is set for the selected tea type, the timer will begin.
5. After the steeping time concludes, carefully remove the infuser (if used) and enjoy your tea.

Auto Keep Warm Function

The tea maker automatically keeps your tea warm for 1 hour after brewing. After 1 hour, the appliance will automatically shut off for safety and energy saving.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your tea maker. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

Daily Cleaning

1. Remove the infuser and discard used tea leaves. Wash the infuser and lid with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
2. Wash the interior of the glass kettle with warm, soapy water. A bottle brush can be used for easier cleaning. Rinse thoroughly.
3. Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
4. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.

Descaling

Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up on the heating plate, especially in areas with hard water. Descale your kettle regularly (e.g., monthly or as needed) to maintain efficiency.

1. Fill the kettle with a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar, or use a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions.
2. Let the solution soak for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup. Do not boil the vinegar solution.
3. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water to remove all traces of the descaling agent.
4. If necessary, boil a kettle of fresh water and discard it to eliminate any residual taste or odor.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your tea maker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Kettle does not heat:
  Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the kettle is properly seated on the power base. Check if a temperature setting has been selected.
• Water boils over:
  Do not fill the kettle above the maximum fill line. Ensure the lid is securely closed.
• Tea tastes strange or has residue:
  Perform initial cleaning steps if it's the first use. Regularly descale the kettle to remove mineral buildup. Ensure the infuser is clean.
• Kettle automatically shuts off prematurely:
  This may indicate the boil-dry protection has activated due to insufficient water. Ensure water is above the MIN line. Allow the kettle to cool before refilling and restarting.
