4.2. Outdoor 7-in-1 Sensor Array
The robust outdoor sensor array collects comprehensive weather data. It includes:
- Rain Collector: Measures precipitation.
- Solar Panel: Powers the sensor and charges internal batteries (if applicable).
- Thermo-Hygrometer: Measures outdoor temperature and humidity.
- UV/Light Sensor: Detects UV index and light intensity.
- Anemometer: Measures wind speed.
- Wind Vane: Determines wind direction.
- Spirit Level: Aids in proper horizontal installation.

5. Setup
5.1. Outdoor Sensor Installation
Proper placement of the outdoor sensor is crucial for accurate readings.
- Choose a Location: Select an open area free from obstructions (trees, buildings) that could block wind or rain, or affect temperature readings. Ideal locations include backyards, farms, rooftops, or sheds.
- Assemble the Sensor: Attach the sensor array to the mounting mast using the provided screws and nuts.
- Mount the Sensor: Secure the mounting mast to a sturdy pole or surface using the mounting bracket. Ensure the sensor is level using the built-in spirit level.
- Orient the Wind Vane: Point the wind vane's 'N' (North) indicator towards true North for accurate wind direction readings.
- Install Batteries: Insert 2x AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor.

5.2. Indoor Display Setup
- Power the Display: Insert 3x AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the display console, or connect the included power adapter to the display and a power outlet.
- Initial Synchronization: The display will automatically search for and connect to the outdoor sensor. This may take a few minutes. Ensure the sensor is within range (up to 100 meters in open areas).

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your weather station.
- Clean the Rain Collector: Periodically check and clean the rain collector funnel to remove leaves, insects, or debris that could obstruct accurate rainfall measurement.
- Inspect Sensors: Ensure the wind cups and wind vane spin freely. Remove any obstructions.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the indoor display (3x AA) and outdoor sensor (2x AA) as needed, typically when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the display and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No data on display / Outdoor sensor not connecting | Batteries low or dead; Sensor out of range; Interference. | Replace batteries in both units. Move display closer to sensor. Check for strong interference sources (e.g., other wireless devices). Re-synchronize units. |
| Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight or heat source; Sensor dirty. | Relocate sensor to a shaded area. Clean the sensor housing. |
| Incorrect wind speed/direction | Obstructions blocking wind cups/vane; Sensor not oriented correctly. | Clear any debris from wind cups/vane. Ensure the 'N' on the wind vane points to true North. |
| Inaccurate rainfall readings | Rain collector blocked by debris. | Clean the rain collector funnel. |
| WiFi connection issues | Incorrect WiFi password; Not 2.4 GHz network; Router too far. | Double-check WiFi password. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network. Move router closer or use a WiFi extender. Reset WiFi settings on the display. |
