Installation Instructions
These taillight assemblies are designed for direct OEM replacement, requiring no modification to your vehicle. However, professional installation is highly recommended to ensure correct wiring and secure mounting.
- Preparation: Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- Access Old Taillights: Open the trunk or hatchback. Locate and remove any trim panels or fasteners that obstruct access to the rear of the taillight assemblies.
- Remove Old Taillights: Disconnect the electrical connectors from the existing taillight bulbs. Unscrew any mounting bolts or nuts holding the taillight assembly in place. Carefully remove the old taillight assembly from the vehicle.
- Inspect New Taillights: Before installation, inspect the new AmeriLite taillight assemblies for any damage.

- Install New Taillights: Carefully position the new AmeriLite taillight assembly into the vehicle's taillight opening. Ensure it aligns correctly with the mounting points.
- Secure Taillights: Reinstall the mounting bolts or nuts and tighten them securely. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Wiring: Reconnect the electrical connectors to the corresponding bulb receptacles on the new taillight assembly. Ensure a snug fit.

Operation
Once properly installed, the AmeriLite Black Taillights will operate in conjunction with your vehicle's existing electrical system. They will illuminate automatically when the corresponding vehicle functions are activated:
- Running Lights: Illuminate when the vehicle's headlights or parking lights are on.
- Brake Lights: Illuminate brighter when the brake pedal is pressed.
- Turn Signals: Flash when the turn signal lever is engaged.
- Reverse Lights: Illuminate when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your taillights, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Clean the taillight lenses regularly with a soft cloth and mild automotive soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the lens material.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the taillight assemblies for any signs of damage, cracks, or loose connections.
- Bulb Replacement: If a bulb burns out, replace it with a bulb of the correct type and wattage as specified by your vehicle's manufacturer. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for specific bulb types.
- Water Intrusion: While the taillights are designed to be waterproof, regularly check for any signs of moisture inside the lens, which could indicate a seal issue.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your taillights, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Light Not Working: Check the bulb. A burnt-out bulb is a common cause. Replace if necessary.
- Intermittent Function: Inspect electrical connections for looseness or corrosion. Ensure all wires are securely plugged into their receptacles.
- Fuse Blown: Check your vehicle's fuse box for a blown fuse related to the taillights. Replace with a fuse of the correct amperage.
- All Lights Out: This could indicate a larger electrical issue, such as a main fuse or wiring problem. Consult a professional mechanic.
