Introduction
The Umbra Otto Automatic Soap Dispenser features innovative sensor pump technology for touchless operation, dispensing a fixed amount of liquid soap or hand sanitizer. Setup
- Battery Installation: The Otto dispenser requires four AAA batteries (not included). Access the battery compartment, typically located at the base of the unit. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.
- Filling the Dispenser:
- Open the large, top-load refill opening.
- Pour liquid soap or hand sanitizer into the reservoir. The fluid level indicator window allows you to monitor the fill level.
- Close the refill opening securely.
- Important: Otto is designed for liquid soap or hand sanitizer. It is not recommended for use with foaming, granular, or thick gel-based soaps or sanitizers. If using a thick soap, consider thinning it with water.
- Initial Priming: After inserting batteries and filling with soap, if the blue light activates and you hear the motor but no soap dispenses, priming is required.
- Pour the soap into a separate container.
- Fill the dispenser with warm water (not boiling) and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until cool.
- Place your hand in front of the motion sensor and repeat activation until water flows consistently.
- Empty the water and refill the pump with your desired liquid soap.

Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off: Locate the power button, usually near the top-load opening. Press to turn the unit on or off. A blue light indicates the dispenser is active.
- Automatic Dispensing: Place your hand directly under the dispensing spout. The motion sensor will detect your hand and automatically dispense a fixed amount of liquid soap in approximately 0.2 seconds.
- Monitoring Soap Level: The fluid level indicator window on the front of the dispenser allows you to easily see when it's time to refill.

Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: For best results, clean the dispensing tip regularly to prevent residue buildup and clogging.
- Internal Rinse: We recommend running the pump with a warm water solution every 2-3 months to keep the internal mechanisms clear.
- Sensor Cleaning: If there is residue on the sensor, wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

Troubleshooting
- No Soap Dispensing (Blue light on, motor sound): If the blue light comes on and you hear the motor but no soap dispenses, follow the initial priming steps outlined in the "Setup" section. This often resolves issues with air in the pump.
- Soap Too Thick: If your liquid soap is too thick, it may not dispense properly. Try adding a small amount of water to thin it out.
- Clogging: The non-drip spout is designed to minimize clogging. If clogging occurs, clean the dispensing tip and run warm water through the pump as described in the "Maintenance" section.
- No Sound from Motor: If the blue light appears but there is no motor sound, this may indicate an internal issue.
