4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Avantree Audikast Plus, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts. Do not disassemble the unit, as this will void the warranty.
  • Safety Information: Avoid placing the device near other wireless devices to prevent interference. Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures or humidity. Follow battery handling and disposal guidelines (though this device is corded electric, general electronic safety applies).

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Audikast Plus, refer to the common problems and solutions below. For more detailed troubleshooting, please visit the official Avantree support website.

5.1 No Sound / Not Working

  • Power Check: Ensure the Audikast Plus is properly powered on and the power LED is lit.
  • Input Selection: Verify that the correct audio input cable (Optical or AUX) is securely connected to both the TV and the transmitter. Ensure only one input is connected.
  • TV Audio Settings: For Optical connection, confirm your TV's audio output is set to "Optical" and the audio format is "PCM" or "Stereo". For AUX connection, ensure TV audio output is set to "Headset" or "External Speaker".
  • Headphone Pairing: Confirm your headphones are successfully paired and connected to the Audikast Plus (solid blue LED on the transmitter).
  • Volume Level: Check the volume levels on both the Audikast Plus and your headphones.

5.2 Audio Delay (Latency)

The Audikast Plus supports aptX Low Latency. To achieve minimal audio delay, both your headphones and the Audikast Plus must support aptX Low Latency. If your headphones do not support aptX-LL, there may be a noticeable audio delay (70-200ms) when watching video content.

5.3 Range Issues

The Audikast Plus is a Class 1 Bluetooth device, offering up to 100ft (30m) range in open-air, line-of-sight conditions. Actual range can be affected by physical obstructions (walls, people), wireless interference (Wi-Fi routers), and the reception capability of the receiving device (headphones). Single-link connections generally offer better range than dual-link connections.
