Setup
1. Powering the Device
The CR-100 can be powered using two methods:
- Battery Operation: Insert two "AA" (UM3) batteries into the battery compartment located on the back of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. Batteries are not included.
- AC Adapter (Optional): Connect a compatible AC adapter (not included) to the DC IN 4.5V jack on the unit.
2. Inserting a Cassette Tape
- Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment door.
- Insert a cassette tape with the exposed tape facing upwards.
- Close the cassette compartment door firmly until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions
1. Cassette Playback
- Ensure a cassette tape is inserted (refer to Setup section).
- Set the FUNCTION switch to TAPE.
- Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
- Adjust the VOLUME control to your desired listening level.
- To fast forward, press the F.FWD button. To rewind, press the F.REW button.
- To stop playback, press the STOP/EJECT button.
2. Radio Operation
- Set the FUNCTION switch to AM or FM.
- Extend the telescopic FM antenna for optimal FM reception. For AM reception, rotate the unit for best signal.
- Rotate the TUNING dial to select your desired radio station.
- Adjust the VOLUME control to your desired listening level.
- To turn off the radio, set the FUNCTION switch to OFF.

3. Recording
The CR-100 allows recording from the built-in microphone or an external source (e.g., radio).
- Insert a blank cassette tape into the compartment.
- To record from the built-in microphone: Ensure the FUNCTION switch is set to TAPE. Press the RECORD button (red button) simultaneously with the PLAY button. The unit will begin recording from its internal microphone.
- To record from the radio: Tune to your desired radio station. Press the RECORD button simultaneously with the PLAY button. The unit will record the radio broadcast.
- To stop recording, press the STOP/EJECT button.

4. Using Headphones
For private listening, plug 3.5mm stereo headphones (not included) into the HEADPHONE JACK located on the top of the unit. The built-in speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

Maintenance
- Keep the unit away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and moisture.
- Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Regularly clean the tape head and pinch roller with a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol to ensure optimal sound quality and prevent tape damage.
- Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
