4. Setup and First Use
Before using your soup maker for the first time, follow these steps:
- Unpack the soup maker and all its components. Remove any packaging materials.
- Wipe the exterior of the motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor unit in water.
- Wash the stainless steel jug, lid (avoiding the electrical connections), measuring cup, and cleaning brush in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly.
- Place the soup maker on a clean, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
- Connect the power cord to a suitable mains outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
The Beldray Soup Maker features four automatic functions: Smooth, Chunky, Blend, and Auto Clean.
5.1 General Operation
- Prepare your ingredients: Chop vegetables and other solid ingredients into small pieces (approximately 2-3 cm) to ensure even cooking and blending.
- Add ingredients to the stainless steel jug. Ensure the liquid level is between the MIN and MAX fill lines marked inside the jug. Do not overfill.
- Securely place the motor unit/lid assembly onto the jug. Ensure it is properly seated and locked into position. The appliance will not operate if the lid is not correctly fitted.
- Plug the appliance into the mains power supply. The digital display will illuminate.
- Press the 'Select' button repeatedly to cycle through the available programs: Smooth, Chunky, Blend, Auto Clean. The selected program will be indicated on the display.
- Once your desired program is selected, press the 'Start/Cancel' button to begin the cycle.
- The appliance will beep when the program is complete. Carefully unplug the soup maker and remove the lid.
- Pour your soup or smoothie using the convenient pouring lip.

5.2 Program Functions
- Smooth: This program cooks and blends ingredients to a smooth consistency, ideal for creamy soups and purees.
- Chunky: This program cooks ingredients without blending them completely, resulting in a soup with visible chunks of vegetables.
- Blend: This function is for blending cold ingredients, perfect for smoothies, milkshakes, or cold sauces. It does not heat the ingredients.
- Auto Clean: This program assists in cleaning the jug and blades after use. (Refer to Section 6 for detailed cleaning instructions).
Note: The cooking times for Smooth and Chunky programs are pre-set. The Blend function operates until the 'Start/Cancel' button is pressed again to stop it.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your soup maker.
- Always unplug the appliance from the mains power supply and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Auto Clean Function: After use, add 800ml of warm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid to the jug. Secure the lid and select the 'Auto Clean' program. Press 'Start/Cancel'. This will help dislodge food residue.
- Manual Cleaning:
- Carefully remove the lid assembly. Use the provided cleaning brush to gently clean around the blending blades. Be extremely careful as the blades are sharp.
- Wash the inside of the stainless steel jug with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the jug and the motor unit/lid assembly with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor unit in water or rinse it under a tap.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surfaces.
- Store the soup maker in a dry place.

7. Troubleshooting
