Inserting the SIM Card and Battery

  1. Carefully remove the back cover of the device.
  2. Locate the SIM card slot. This device uses a MicroSIM card. If you have a NanoSIM, you may need an adapter. Ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly according to the diagram near the slot.
  3. Insert the provided 1500 mAh rechargeable battery into its compartment.
  4. Replace the back cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

Charging the Device

For optimal performance, fully charge the device before first use.

  • Connect the USB Charging Cable to the device's USB port.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  • The battery indicator light will show charging status.

Initial Power On and Configuration

  1. Press and hold the power button (typically located on the side or front) until the indicator lights illuminate.
  2. Wait for the device to boot up and establish a network connection. The signal indicator light will turn green when a connection is established.
  3. To connect to the Wi-Fi network, find the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. These are typically printed on a sticker located under the battery. A QR code for quick connection might also be present, but some cameras may struggle to read it due to its small size.
  4. For security, it is highly recommended to change the default Wi-Fi password and the device's administration password. You can do this by accessing the device's web management interface via a connected browser (refer to the Quick Start Guide for the default IP address).

Operating the Device

Connecting to the Wi-Fi Network

To connect your devices (smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc.) to the Huawei Mobile WiFi:

  1. On your device, enable Wi-Fi and search for available networks.
  2. Select the network name (SSID) of your Huawei Mobile WiFi.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  4. Once connected, you can access the internet. The device supports up to 16 simultaneous connections.

Understanding Indicator Lights

The device features indicator lights that provide information about its status:

  • Signal Indicator: Displays the strength of the mobile network signal. Green typically indicates a strong signal, while other colors or blinking patterns may indicate a weaker signal or no connection.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows the current battery level and charging status. Green usually means sufficient charge, while red or blinking may indicate low battery or charging in progress.

Managing Connected Devices

The device allows you to manage connected devices. You can disconnect any device by simply pressing a dedicated button on the unit (refer to the Quick Start Guide for exact button location and function) or through the web management interface.

Maintenance

Battery Care

To maximize battery life and performance:

  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures.
  • Charge the battery regularly, but avoid overcharging for extended periods.
  • While the battery is removable, prolonged use while constantly connected to power may affect its long-term capacity.

Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

Software Updates

Huawei provides software updates to improve device performance and security. Software updates for this model are guaranteed until April 13, 2030. Check the device's web management interface periodically for available updates.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
No network signal or slow speed.
  • Ensure the SIM card is correctly inserted and activated.
  • Check your location for network coverage. Move to an area with better signal.
  • Reduce the number of connected devices if performance is slow.
  • Verify your data plan is active and has sufficient allowance.
Device does not power on.
  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source.
  • Verify the battery is properly installed.
Device resets to factory settings unexpectedly.

This can occur if the device is connected to a USB power supply during its boot phase. To prevent this:

  1. Power on the router and wait until it has fully established a connection (both indicator lights turn green, then the signal light may briefly turn red before returning to green, and finally both lights turn off).
  2. Only after the device has fully booted, connect it to the power supply. First, plug the power supply into the wall socket, then connect the charging cable to the device.
Cannot connect to Wi-Fi network.
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  • Ensure the device is powered on and broadcasting its Wi-Fi signal.
  • Try restarting both the Mobile WiFi device and your connecting device.
