5. Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for proper installation. Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before proceeding.
- Prepare the Ceiling: Cut a hole in the ceiling according to the fixture's dimensions. Refer to Figure 3 for precise measurements.
- Connect Wiring: Open the remote junction box. Connect the house wiring (120V AC) to the corresponding wires inside the junction box using appropriate wire connectors. Typically, black to black (live), white to white (neutral), and green/bare copper to green (ground). Ensure all connections are secure.
- Secure Junction Box: Place the junction box into the ceiling opening.
- Connect Fixture to Junction Box: Connect the cable from the LED recessed light fixture to the remote junction box. This connection is typically a plug-and-play type.
- Install Fixture: Gently push the spring-loaded clips on the sides of the fixture upwards and insert the fixture into the ceiling opening. The clips will spring back down to secure the fixture against the ceiling. The fixture features a foam gasket for better sealing.
- Restore Power: Once the fixture is securely installed, restore power at the circuit breaker.

6. Operation
The NSL 4-inch Slim LED Recessed Light is designed for simple operation.
- Turning On/Off: Control the light using a standard wall switch connected to the circuit.
- Dimming Function: This fixture is 100% to 5% dimmable. To utilize the dimming feature, connect it to a compatible LED dimmer switch (sold separately). Follow the dimmer switch manufacturer's instructions for installation and operation.
7. Maintenance
The NSL LED recessed light requires minimal maintenance.
