Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Celestron SkySync GPS Accessory and SkyPortal WiFi Module. These accessories are designed to enhance your computerized telescope experience by automating alignment processes and enabling wireless control.

The SkySync GPS module automatically updates your telescope's date, time, longitude, and latitude, significantly improving the speed and accuracy of your alignments. The SkyPortal WiFi Module allows you to control and align your compatible Celestron telescope wirelessly using a smartphone or tablet via the free SkyPortal app.

Setup

SkySync GPS Accessory Setup

The SkySync GPS accessory is designed for straightforward integration with your Celestron computerized telescope. It eliminates the need for manual input of time, date, and location data, streamlining the alignment process.

1. Connect the SkySync Module: Plug the SkySync GPS module into an available Auxiliary (AUX) port on your telescope's mount or hand control. The module is powered directly by the telescope mount, requiring no external batteries.
2. Placement: Ensure the SkySync module has a clear view of the sky for optimal GPS signal reception. It is recommended to attach it to a tripod leg using the provided strap, keeping it away from obstructions.
3. Power On: Power on your telescope. The SkySync module will automatically begin searching for GPS satellites and update the telescope's internal clock and location data.

SkyPortal WiFi Module Setup

The SkyPortal WiFi Module enables wireless control of your telescope, offering a modern and intuitive way to navigate the night sky.

1. Connect the SkyPortal WiFi Module: Plug the SkyPortal WiFi Module into an available AUX port on your telescope mount. Like the SkySync, it draws power directly from the mount.
