Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Remove the handset cover by sliding it downwards.
  2. Insert the two supplied AAA rechargeable batteries according to the polarity markings (+ and -).
  3. Replace the handset cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

2. Charging the Handset

Place the handset on the charger cradle. The charge indicator on the handset should illuminate, indicating that charging has begun. Allow the handset to charge for at least 7 hours before initial use.

3. Registering the Handset

This handset must be registered to your Panasonic KX-TGM430B series base unit to function. Refer to your base unit's instruction manual for specific registration steps. Generally, this involves:

  1. Placing the handset on the base unit or charger.
  2. Pressing and holding the LOCATOR/INTERCOM button on the base unit for approximately 5 seconds until the registration tone sounds.
  3. Pressing the OK button on the handset within 90 seconds.
  4. A confirmation tone will sound on the handset if registration is successful.

Making Calls

  • Dialing before talking: Enter the phone number, then press TALK.
  • Talking before dialing: Press TALK, then enter the phone number.
  • To end a call, press OFF.

Answering Calls

When the phone rings, press TALK or any dial key (0-9, *, #) to answer the call.

Adjusting Volume

During a call, press VOL. (up or down arrow) to adjust the receiver volume.

Using Speakerphone

During a call, press SP-PHONE to switch to speakerphone mode. Press it again to switch back to the receiver.

Talking Caller ID

When an incoming call is received, the handset will announce the caller's name or number if you subscribe to Caller ID service and the information is available.

Volume Boost Feature

Press the BOOST button during a call to amplify the caller's voice volume up to 40 dB. This feature is designed for users with hearing difficulties. Press BOOST again to deactivate.

Slow Talk Feature

Press the SLOW button during a call to slow down the caller's speech, making it easier to understand fast talkers.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the handset and charger with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Battery Care and Replacement

  • For optimal battery life, fully charge the handset regularly.
  • If the handset's operating time becomes significantly shorter, the batteries may need replacement. Use only Panasonic-approved rechargeable AAA batteries.

Troubleshooting

  • No dial tone: Ensure the handset is registered to the base unit and the base unit is connected to the telephone line.

  • Poor sound quality: Move closer to the base unit. Check for interference from other electronic devices.
