General Power Tool Safety Warnings

Battery and Charger Safety

• Only use the charger specified by the manufacturer to recharge. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
• Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.

Setup

1. Charging the Battery

1. Connect the charger to a suitable power outlet.
2. Insert the battery pack into the charger. Ensure it clicks into place.
3. The charging indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. Refer to the charger's specific instructions for light indications.
4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

2. Inserting and Removing the Battery

• Inserting: Slide the charged battery pack into the base of the impact driver until it locks securely.
• Removing: Press the release button(s) on the battery pack and slide it out of the tool.

3. Attaching and Removing Drill Bits/Accessories

1. Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed.
2. Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
3. Insert the drill bit or accessory into the chuck, ensuring it is centered.
4. Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit. Hand-tighten firmly.
5. To remove, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise and pull out the bit.

4. Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The auxiliary handle provides better control, especially during impact drilling or when working with higher torque. Screw the auxiliary handle onto the designated threaded collar at the front of the drill until it is firm. Adjust its position for comfortable use.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off and Speed Control

• To Power On: Press the trigger switch. The tool's speed is variable depending on how far the trigger is pressed.
• To Power Off: Release the trigger switch.
• Speed Selection: Use the 2-speed gear selector switch located on top of the tool. Position '1' is for low speed and high torque (e.g., screwing, large diameter drilling). Position '2' is for high speed and lower torque (e.g., small diameter drilling).

2. Setting Rotation Direction (Forward/Reverse)

The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (drilling/screwing in) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws). Ensure the switch is in the center position when not in use to prevent accidental starting.

3. Selecting Operating Mode and Torque

• Screwing Mode: Rotate the function selector ring to the screw symbol. Adjust the torque selector ring to the desired setting (1-21). Lower numbers are for smaller screws or softer materials; higher numbers for larger screws or harder materials.
• Drilling Mode: Rotate the function selector ring to the drill bit symbol. The clutch will not engage, providing maximum torque for drilling.
• Impact Drilling Mode: Rotate the function selector ring to the hammer symbol. This mode is for drilling into masonry or concrete.

4. Using the LED Work Light

The integrated LED work light automatically illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit conditions.

5. General Operation Tips

• Always hold the tool firmly with both hands, especially when using the auxiliary handle.
• Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.
• For drilling, start with a slow speed to create a pilot hole, then increase speed as needed.
• When screwing, use the appropriate torque setting to prevent stripping screw heads or damaging the workpiece.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Einhell Cordless Impact Driver.

1. Cleaning

• Always remove the battery pack before cleaning.
• Keep the ventilation slots clean to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air.
• Wipe the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning agents or solvents.
• Clean the chuck jaws regularly to ensure proper grip on bits.

2. Battery Care

• Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Do not allow batteries to fully discharge for extended periods. Recharge them periodically if not in use.
• Inspect battery terminals for dirt or corrosion and clean if necessary.

3. Storage

Store the impact driver, batteries, and charger in the provided carry case in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Ensure the battery is removed from the tool before storage.
