4.1. Controls and Display
- LCD Display: Shows real-time information such as voltage (V), current (A), capacity (mAh), temperature (°C), and selected mode (Charge, Discharge, Refresh, Test).
- MODE Button: Used to cycle through the operating modes (Charge, Discharge, Refresh, Test).
- SLOT Button: Used to select the battery slot (1 or 2) to view or change its settings.
5. Setup
- Connect Power: Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charger's input port and then to a suitable USB power adapter (DC 5V/2A recommended). The LCD display will illuminate.
- Insert Batteries: Carefully insert one or two compatible rechargeable batteries into the charging slots. Ensure the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery match the markings on the charger. The charger will automatically detect the battery type and display its current voltage.
6. Operating Instructions
The DLYFULL UT2 offers several operating modes for comprehensive battery management.
6.1. Mode Selection
After inserting a battery, the charger will enter a default mode (usually Charge). To change the mode:
- Press the SLOT button to select the desired battery slot (if two batteries are inserted).
- Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the available modes: CHARGE, DISCHARGE, REFRESH, and TEST.
- Once the desired mode is displayed, stop pressing the MODE button. The charger will automatically begin the selected operation after a few seconds.
6.2. Operating Modes Explained
- CHARGE Mode:
This is the standard mode for charging batteries. The charger will automatically detect the battery type (Li-ion, Ni-MH, LiFePO4) and apply the appropriate charging algorithm. The display will show charging progress, current voltage, and accumulated capacity.
- DISCHARGE Mode:
In this mode, the charger will discharge the battery to a safe voltage level before automatically switching to CHARGE mode. This can help reduce the memory effect in Ni-MH batteries and prepare batteries for storage. The display will show the discharged capacity.
- REFRESH Mode:
The Refresh mode is designed to restore the full capacity of older or underperforming Ni-MH batteries. It involves multiple charge-discharge cycles to optimize battery performance. This process can take several hours depending on the battery's condition. The display will show the current cycle and accumulated capacity.

Figure 6.1: Refresh Mode Example. This image shows the DLYFULL UT2 charger with batteries inserted, potentially illustrating the refresh mode in progress. The display would indicate the current operation.
- TEST Mode:
The Test mode measures the actual capacity of a battery. It typically involves fully charging the battery, then fully discharging it while measuring the discharged capacity, and finally recharging it. This provides an accurate assessment of the battery's health and true capacity.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the charger's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the charger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Battery Contacts: Periodically check the battery contacts for any dirt or corrosion. Clean gently if necessary to ensure good electrical connection.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger not powering on | No power connection or faulty cable/adapter. | Ensure the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the charger and a working USB power adapter. Try a different cable or adapter. |
| "Low Input" message on display | Insufficient power supply from the USB adapter. | Use a USB power adapter that provides at least DC 5V/2A. |
| Battery not charging | Incorrect battery insertion, incompatible battery, or faulty battery. | Check battery polarity. Ensure the battery type is supported. Try a different battery. Clean battery contacts. |
| Charger or battery gets hot | Normal during charging/discharging, but excessive heat indicates an issue. | Ensure adequate ventilation. If overheating persists, remove the battery and discontinue use. Contact support. |
