Setting the Time
- Locate the crown on the right side of the watch case.
- Pull the crown out to the second click position (time setting position). The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back in to the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
Setting the Date (if applicable)
If your watch features a date display, follow these steps:
- Pull the crown out to the first click position (date setting position).
- Turn the crown to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
- Push the crown back in to the normal position.
Bracelet Adjustment
The stainless steel bracelet may require adjustment for a comfortable fit. This typically involves removing or adding links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a qualified jeweler or watch technician to prevent damage to the bracelet or clasp.

Operating the Watch
Basic Timekeeping
Once the time is set, your quartz watch will accurately keep time using its Japanese Quartz movement. The large central hands indicate hours, minutes, and seconds.
Chronograph Function
This watch features a chronograph, which is a stopwatch function. The subdials on the watch face are used for measuring elapsed time.
- Start/Stop Button: Typically the pusher located at the 2 o'clock position. Press once to start the chronograph, press again to stop it.
- Reset Button: Typically the pusher located at the 4 o'clock position. Press this button after stopping the chronograph to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.
- Refer to the specific markings on your watch's subdials for their individual functions (e.g., 60-second, 30-minute, 12-hour counters).
Water Resistance
Your Invicta Model 28584 watch is water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for diving. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Battery Replacement
As a quartz watch, it is powered by a battery. The battery life typically ranges from 2 to 3 years. When the watch stops running, the battery needs to be replaced. It is highly recommended to have battery replacement performed by a professional watchmaker to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
Water Resistance Care
Over time, gaskets that ensure water resistance can degrade. It is advisable to have the water resistance checked periodically, especially if the watch is frequently exposed to water. Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes, as this can affect the gaskets.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
- Incorrect Time/Date: Refer to the "Setting the Time" and "Setting the Date" sections. Ensure the crown is securely pushed back in after adjustment.
- Chronograph Hands Not Resetting to Zero: This may require a chronograph reset procedure, which can vary by movement. Consult a professional watchmaker if the standard reset (stopping and then pressing the reset button) does not work.
- Condensation Under Crystal: This indicates a breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to a professional for inspection and repair to prevent further damage.
