  2. Install Vertical Mast: Attach the vertical mast to the main hitch arm using the provided hardware. Ensure it is upright and securely fastened.

  2. Secure Wheels: Use the provided wheel straps to firmly secure both the front and rear wheels to the cradles.
  3. Adjust Frame Hook: Lower the padded frame retention hook over the bike's top tube. Tighten the knob until the hook firmly holds the bike frame in place. Ensure the bike is stable and does not wobble.

Accessing Vehicle Cargo Area (Tilt Feature):

The KAC bike rack features a quick-release tilt lever for convenient access to your vehicle's trunk or hatchback without removing the bikes.

  1. Ensure Clearance: Before tilting, ensure there is sufficient space behind the vehicle for the rack and bikes to tilt downwards.
  2. Operate Lever: Locate the quick-release tilt lever at the base of the vertical mast. Pull or press the lever (depending on design) to disengage the locking mechanism.
  3. Tilt Rack: Carefully tilt the entire rack assembly downwards, away from the vehicle. The rack will pivot, allowing the trunk to open.
  4. Return to Upright: Lift the rack back into its upright position until it locks securely in place.
