4. Setup and Installation
Installation requires basic mechanical skills and tools. Ensure the motorcycle is stable and powered off before beginning.
4.1. Preparation
- Park your motorcycle on a level surface and ensure it is stable.
- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during wiring.
- Identify and remove the existing factory fender and license plate assembly. This typically involves unscrewing mounting bolts and disconnecting any wiring for the original license plate light or turn signals.
4.2. Installing the LED License Plate Light
- Attach the provided LED license plate light to the designated mounting points on the fender eliminator bracket using the small screws.
- Ensure the light is securely fastened and oriented correctly to illuminate the license plate.
4.3. Mounting the Fender Eliminator Bracket
- Align the fender eliminator bracket with the mounting holes on your motorcycle's subframe, where the original fender was attached.
- Secure the bracket using the supplied 304 stainless steel hardware. Tighten all bolts firmly but do not overtighten to avoid damaging threads.
4.4. Wiring the LED License Plate Light
- The LED license plate light requires connection to your motorcycle's electrical system. You will need to add some wires to connect the plugs.
- Identify the appropriate power source (e.g., existing license plate light wiring or tail light wiring). Consult your motorcycle's service manual for wiring diagrams if unsure.
- Connect the LED light's wires to the power source, ensuring correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative). Use appropriate electrical connectors (not included) and insulate all connections to prevent shorts and corrosion.
- Route the wiring safely, away from moving parts and heat sources, securing it with zip ties if necessary.
4.5. Adjusting the Bracket Angle
The bracket allows for angle adjustment to suit your preference and local regulations.
- Loosen the adjustment bolts on the bracket.
- Adjust the angle of the license plate to the desired position.
- Tighten the adjustment bolts securely to lock the angle in place.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and wired correctly, the LED license plate light will activate with your motorcycle's tail light or when the designated circuit is powered. Ensure the license plate is clearly visible and illuminated according to local traffic laws.
6. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all mounting bolts for tightness. Vibrations from motorcycle operation can cause fasteners to loosen over time.
- Cleaning: Clean the bracket and LED light with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electrical components.
- Wiring Check: Inspect wiring connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| LED license plate light does not illuminate. | Incorrect wiring connection, loose connection, blown fuse, faulty LED light. | Check wiring for correct polarity and secure connections. Inspect motorcycle's fuse box. Test the LED light with a separate 12V power source. Replace if faulty. |
| Bracket feels loose after installation. | Mounting bolts not tightened sufficiently, incorrect hardware used. | Ensure all mounting bolts are tightened securely. Verify that the correct hardware was used as per instructions. |
| License plate angle shifts during riding. | Adjustment bolts not tightened. | Re-adjust the license plate angle and ensure the adjustment bolts are firmly tightened. |
