Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your MEE audio Connect T1CMA system.

1. Charging

Before initial use, ensure both the transmitter and headphones are fully charged.

  • Connect the Micro-USB charging cables to the respective charging ports on the transmitter and headphones.
  • Plug the other end of the USB cables into a power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter, or TV USB port).
  • Note: If using a TV USB port, be aware that most TVs do not supply power when turned off, which may cause the transmitter to run out of battery.

3. Connecting to Your TV

Choose only one audio cable supported by your TV. Consult your TV's user manual or inspect the back panel for available audio output ports (Optical, 3.5mm, or RCA).

Image: Various audio cables (optical, 3.5mm, RCA) used for connecting the transmitter to a TV.

Option 1: Using the Optical Cable (Recommended for best quality)

  • If your TV has a 'DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL)' jack, use the provided optical cable.
  • Remove the plastic caps from both ends of the optical cable.
  • Plug one end into your TV's optical output and the other end into the 'OPTICAL' port on the Connect transmitter. The port door on the transmitter will move out of the way when the cable is inserted correctly.

Option 2: Using the 3.5mm Headphone Jack

  • If your TV has a headphone jack (often labeled 'Headphones', 'Phones', or with a headphone symbol), use the 3.5mm audio cable.
  • Plug one end into your TV's headphone jack and the other end into the '3.5 mm' port on the Connect transmitter.
  • Most TVs will automatically mute their internal speakers when the headphone jack is in use.

Option 3: Using the RCA Cable

  • If your TV has red and white RCA jacks labeled 'AUDIO OUT', use the 3.5mm to RCA audio cable.
  • Plug the red and white RCA connectors into the corresponding red and white 'AUDIO OUT' ports on your TV.
  • Plug the 3.5mm end of the cable into the '3.5 mm' port on the Connect transmitter.
  • Important: Ensure the RCA jacks are labeled 'AUDIO OUT'. 'AV IN', 'COMPONENT IN', or 'AUDIO IN' ports are inputs and will not work.

4. Adjust TV Audio Settings (If no sound)

If you do not hear audio after connecting, you may need to adjust your TV's audio output settings. These settings are typically found in the 'Sound' or 'Audio' menu of your TV.

  • For Optical Connection: Change the 'Audio Format' or 'Digital Audio Output' setting to 'PCM' (Pulse-Code Modulation). Avoid 'Dolby Digital' or 'DTS' formats as they are not supported by the Connect transmitter.
  • For RCA Connection: If your TV has an 'Analog Audio Out' setting, ensure it is set to 'Variable' instead of 'Fixed'. This allows you to control the volume via your TV remote.
  • If you are still experiencing issues, consult your TV's user manual or contact the TV manufacturer for specific instructions on adjusting audio output settings.

Dual-Headphone Streaming

The Connect transmitter supports dual-link technology, allowing you to connect a second Bluetooth headset or speaker (sold separately). The volume of each connected device can be adjusted independently.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the headphones and transmitter with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the headphones frequently. Charge them regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

No Sound

  • Ensure all cables are securely connected to both the transmitter and the TV.
  • Verify that the transmitter and headphones are powered on and successfully paired (solid blue light on transmitter).
  • Check your TV's audio output settings as described in the 'Adjust TV Audio Settings' section.
  • Increase the volume on both your headphones and your TV.

Pairing Issues (for new headphones or re-pairing)

  • Ensure both the transmitter and the headphones are in pairing mode simultaneously (blinking blue light on transmitter, blinking red and blue on headphones).
  • Refer to the headphone's user manual for specific pairing instructions if it's not a MEE audio Matrix Cinema headphone.

Audio Delay / Lip-Sync Issues

  • The MEE audio Connect T1CMA system uses Qualcomm aptX Low Latency technology to minimize audio delay.
  • Ensure your audio source (TV, streaming device) is also compatible with aptX Low Latency for the best performance.
