2. Safety Information

WARNING: High-pressure air can be extremely dangerous. Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or death.

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, when handling high-pressure equipment.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free before pressurizing the system.
  • Never exceed the maximum rated pressure of 30 MPa (300 BAR / 4500 PSI) for this filter.
  • Do not modify the filter or its components. Use only genuine TUXING replacement parts.
  • Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the operating area.
  • Regularly inspect the filter for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. Do not use if damaged.
  • The integrated safety valve is designed to automatically release pressure if it exceeds the set limit. Do not tamper with or disable this valve.

3. Product Overview and Components

The TUXING TXF004-L features a robust design with a two-stage filtration system housed in aviation-grade aluminum alloy cylinders.

3.1 Filtration System

This filter employs a dual-stage purification process:

  1. First Stage (Oil-Water Separator): Utilizes physical principles of gas reflux, variable diameter cooling, and vapor condensation to effectively separate oil and water from the compressed air.
  2. Second Stage (Activated Carbon Filter): Contains activated carbon particles to absorb residual moisture and odors, ensuring the air is clean and free from contaminants.

3.2 Construction and Materials

The filter casing is constructed from thickened aviation-grade aluminum alloy, providing exceptional durability and resistance to high pressure. This material ensures safety and reliability under demanding conditions.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to properly set up your TUXING TXF004-L filter:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging and inspect them for any damage.
  2. Assemble Filter Elements: Ensure the internal filter elements (cotton pads, activated carbon, molecular sieve) are correctly inserted into the filter cylinders as per the diagram (refer to Figure 3.1).
  3. Connect Hoses: Attach the high-pressure hoses to the inlet and outlet ports of the filter. Ensure all connections are tightened securely to prevent leaks.
  4. Connect to Compressor: Connect the filter's inlet to your air compressor's outlet.
  5. Connect to Filling Device: Connect the filter's outlet to your filling device (e.g., PCP airgun, scuba tank, paintball tank).
  6. Check Compatibility: Verify that the connectors are compatible with your compressor and filling device. If not, an appropriate adapter may be required (e.g., 8mm female connector, as shown in Figure 3.5).

5. Operating Instructions

Once the filter is properly set up, follow these steps for operation:

  1. Open Drain Valve: Before starting the compressor, ensure the drain valve at the bottom of the filter is closed.
  2. Start Compressor: Turn on your air compressor and allow it to build pressure.
  3. Monitor Pressure: Continuously monitor the pressure gauge on your compressor and/or filling device. Do not exceed the maximum rated pressure of the filter or your receiving tank.
  4. Fill Tank: Once the desired pressure is reached in your receiving tank, turn off the compressor.
  5. Depressurize System: Slowly open the bleed valve on your compressor or the drain valve on the filter to release residual pressure from the system before disconnecting.
  6. Drain Moisture: After each use, or periodically during extended use, open the drain valve at the bottom of the filter to release any accumulated oil and water. Close the valve once drained.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of your filter.

6.1 Draining Accumulated Moisture and Oil

As mentioned in the operating instructions, it is essential to drain the accumulated oil and water from the filter after each use. This prevents saturation of the filter media and ensures efficient purification.

6.2 Filter Cartridge Replacement

The activated carbon filter cartridge needs to be replaced periodically. It is recommended to replace the filter cartridge after approximately 360 liters of gas have been processed, or if you notice a decrease in air quality (e.g., presence of moisture or odor).

  1. Depressurize: Ensure the entire system is fully depressurized before attempting any maintenance.
  2. Disassemble: Carefully unscrew the filter cylinders. The filter can be dismantled individually for easier access to the cartridges.
  3. Remove Old Cartridge: Remove the used activated carbon cartridge and cotton pads.
  4. Insert New Cartridge: Insert new cotton pads and a fresh activated carbon cartridge. Ensure they are seated correctly.
  5. Reassemble: Screw the filter cylinders back together, ensuring all O-rings are properly seated and connections are tight.
