3. Setup Guide
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the M32 LIVE console from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.
3.2 Power Connection
Connect the provided power cable to the AC Power input on the rear panel of the console. Ensure the power source matches the voltage requirements specified on the unit (240 Volts). Use a grounded outlet.

3.3 Initial Connections
For basic operation, connect your audio sources (microphones, instruments) to the XLR inputs on the rear panel. Connect your main outputs to your amplification system or studio monitors. Utilize the AES50 ports for digital snake connections or other compatible devices. The console also features a USB 2.0 hardware interface for computer connectivity.
3.4 First Power-Up
Once all connections are secure, power on the console. Allow a few moments for the system to initialize. The 7-inch display will illuminate, and the control surface will become active.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Navigating the Interface
The M32 LIVE features a combination of physical controls and a central display for operation. Use the rotary encoders and buttons adjacent to the display to navigate menus and adjust parameters shown on the screen. Dedicated sections for EQ, Dynamics, and Bus Sends provide direct access to common functions.

4.2 Input Channel Processing
Each input channel offers comprehensive processing including gain, equalization (EQ), gate, and dynamics (compression). Select a channel using its dedicated 'SEL' button, then use the corresponding physical controls and the display to adjust settings. The Midas PRO preamplifiers provide exceptional clarity and warmth.
4.3 Mix Bus Configuration
The console provides 25 mix buses for creating monitor mixes, effects sends, or subgroups. Assign channels to buses and adjust send levels as needed. The time-aligned and phase-coherent design ensures optimal audio integrity across all buses.
4.4 Recording and Playback
The M32 LIVE supports 32 bi-directional channels for recording and playback via dual SD/SDHC card slots. Insert compatible SD/SDHC cards (not included) into the designated slots. Refer to the on-screen menu for recording and playback controls.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the console's surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the controls or ports. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5.2 Firmware Updates
Periodically check the official MIDAS website for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, new features, and bug fixes. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
5.3 Environmental Considerations
Operate the M32 LIVE in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 No Power
- Check that the power cable is securely connected to both the console and a working power outlet.
- Verify the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Ensure the power outlet is supplying the correct voltage.
6.2 No Audio Output
- Confirm that input sources are properly connected and active.
- Check channel gain levels and ensure faders are up.
