6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On/Off: Locate the ON/OFF switch on the microphone body. Slide it to "ON" to activate the microphone and "OFF" to power it down.
  2. Positioning: For best sound quality, position the microphone directly in front of the sound source. The pop filter should be between your mouth and the microphone to reduce plosive sounds (P, B, T).
  3. Software Settings: After connecting, open your recording software, communication application, or system sound settings. Select the XIAOKOA M30 (or "USB Audio Device" if using the adapter) as your primary audio input device.
  4. Input Level Adjustment: Adjust the input gain or volume level in your software or operating system to prevent clipping (distortion) and ensure a strong signal.
  5. Monitoring: If using the Y-splitter or a USB sound adapter with a headphone jack, connect headphones to monitor your audio in real-time.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the microphone body. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Pop Filter: The pop filter can be gently cleaned with a damp cloth if necessary. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the microphone and its accessories in a clean, dry place, away from dust and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Avoid bending or twisting the cables excessively to prevent internal damage.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
No sound output from microphone.
  • Ensure the microphone's ON/OFF switch is in the "ON" position.
  • Check all cable connections (microphone to adapter/splitter, adapter/splitter to device).
  • Verify that the correct microphone input device is selected in your computer's or mobile device's sound settings.
  • Increase the input volume/gain in your device's sound settings or recording software.
  • If using the USB adapter, try a different USB port.
Sound is distorted or too quiet.
  • Adjust the input volume/gain in your device's sound settings. Too high can cause distortion, too low can make it quiet.
  • Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly and not too close or too far from the sound source.
  • Check for background noise in your environment.
  • Ensure the pop filter is correctly positioned to reduce plosives.
Microphone not detected by computer.
  • Reconnect the USB sound adapter to a different USB port.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Check device manager (Windows) or System Information (Mac) to see if the USB Audio Device is listed.
  • Ensure the microphone's 3.5mm jack is fully inserted into the USB adapter's microphone port.
Poor sound quality when connected to mobile.
  • Ensure the Y-splitter is fully inserted into the mobile device's jack.
  • Verify the microphone is plugged into the correct port on the Y-splitter (microphone icon).
  • Some mobile devices may require specific recording apps to properly utilize external microphones.
