Setup

1. Powering the Radio

The Eton Elite Mini can be powered by two AAA batteries (sold separately) or via a Micro-USB cable (not included). To install batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely.

2. Antenna Setup

For FM and Shortwave reception, extend the telescoping antenna fully. For AM reception, rotate the radio to find the best signal, as it uses an internal AM antenna.

Operating Instructions

1. Turning On/Off

Press the POWER button located on the top right of the radio to turn it on or off.

2. Selecting Bands

Use the band selector switch on the left side of the radio to choose between FM, AM, and Shortwave (SW1/SW2) bands.

3. Tuning to Stations

• Manual Tuning: Use the TUNE dial on the right side of the radio to manually adjust the frequency.
• Automatic Scan: Press the SCAN button to automatically search for and stop at the next available station.
• Quick Tune: For AM, the HOUR/Display button can jump 100 kHz (e.g., 600, 700, 800). For FM, it can jump 1 MHz (e.g., 89, 90, 91).

4. Adjusting Volume

Use the VOL dial on the right side of the radio to adjust the audio volume.

5. Setting Alarm and Sleep Timer

• Alarm: Press the ALARM button to set or activate the alarm. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the desired time.
• Sleep Timer: Press the SLEEP button to activate the sleep timer, allowing the radio to turn off automatically after a set period.

6. Key Lock Function

To prevent accidental button presses, slide the LOCK switch (indicated by a key icon) to the locked position. Slide it back to unlock.

7. Headphone Use

Plug 3.5mm headphones into the headphone jack on the top of the radio for private listening. The headphone cable may also act as an antenna for FM/SW bands.

Maintenance

• Clean the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• If not using the radio for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
• Store the radio in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Use the provided carrying pouch to protect the radio from scratches and impacts.
