1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Setup with Apple HomeKit

1. Ensure your smartphone is running iOS 13.0 or higher.
2. Connect your smartphone to your 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network.
3. Plug the meross Smart Outdoor Plug into a power outlet near your Wi-Fi router for initial setup.
4. Open the Apple Home app on your iOS device.
5. Tap the '+' icon or 'Add Accessory' to begin the setup process.
6. Scan the HomeKit setup code located on the device or its packaging.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to add the accessory and configure its settings, such as naming the outlets and assigning them to rooms.

5.2 Initial Setup with Meross App (for Android users or additional features)

1. Download the meross app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Register or log in to your meross account.
3. Plug the meross Smart Outdoor Plug into a power outlet near your Wi-Fi router.
4. In the meross app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device.
5. Select 'Smart Outdoor Plug' from the device list.
6. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the device to your 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network.

5.3 Physical Installation

Once configured, the smart plug can be installed in its desired outdoor location. Ensure the chosen outdoor outlet has a protective cover. The plug's short cord and compact design allow for flexible placement.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Manual Control

Press the central power button on the device to manually turn both outlets on or off simultaneously. Individual outlets can only be controlled via the app or voice commands.

6.2 App Control (Remote, Scheduling, Timers)

Use the meross app or Apple Home app to control the outlets individually or together. You can:

• Remote Control: Turn outlets on/off from anywhere with an internet connection.
• Scheduling: Set specific times for outlets to turn on or off daily.
• Timers: Create countdown timers for temporary operation.
• Sunrise/Sunset: Automate based on local sunrise and sunset times.

6.3 Voice Control

The meross Smart Outdoor Plug is compatible with:

• Apple HomeKit: "Hey Siri, turn on my outdoor lights." (Requires HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub for remote access).
• Amazon Alexa: "Alexa, turn on my outdoor lights."
• Google Assistant: "Hey Google, turn on my outdoor lights."
• SmartThings: Integrate for voice control through SmartThings compatible devices.

6.4 Offline Control

If your internet connection is down, you can still control your meross devices within your home Wi-Fi network via the meross app, provided your phone is connected to the local Wi-Fi.

7. Maintenance

• Regularly check the device for any visible damage or wear.
• Keep the protective covers over unused outlets to maintain weatherproof integrity.
• Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Ensure the Wi-Fi signal strength is adequate for optimal performance, especially in outdoor environments.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during setup. Move the smart plug closer to your Wi-Fi router. Check your router settings for any restrictions.
• Remote control not working: For Apple HomeKit, ensure you have a home hub (HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad) set up and connected to your home Wi-Fi. For other platforms, verify your internet connection and app settings.
• Outlets not responding: Check if the device is powered on. Try pressing the manual power button. If issues persist, try resetting the device (refer to the meross app for specific reset instructions).
• Voice commands not working: Ensure the smart plug is correctly linked to your smart assistant (Alexa, Google Assistant, HomeKit) account and that the device names are recognized.
