3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your smartwatch. Connect the included magnetic USB charger to a USB port (preferably a computer USB port to avoid over-powering). Align the charger with the back of the watch until it magnetically snaps into place. The watch display will indicate charging progress.

3.2 App Installation & Pairing

To unlock the full potential of your Fossil Hybrid Smartwatch, download the Fossil Smartwatches App from your device's app store (compatible with Android OS 5.0+ and iOS 9.0+). Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to pair your watch with your smartphone. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone during the pairing process.

4.2 Customizing Watch Faces

Personalize your watch face through the Fossil Smartwatches App. You can select from various pre-set designs or create your own custom layouts, choosing which information (complications) to display, such as heart rate, steps, date, or weather.

4.3 Activity Tracking

Your smartwatch continuously tracks your activity and wellness data:

4.4 Smartphone Notifications

The watch displays previews of incoming calls, texts, and app alerts. The mechanical hands will temporarily move to clear the display for readability. You can dismiss notifications from the watch, but responding typically requires your smartphone.

4.5 Music Control

Control music playback on your connected smartphone directly from your watch. Functions typically include play/pause, skip track, and volume adjustment.

4.6 Other Functions

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For leather straps, use a leather cleaner and conditioner as needed.

5.2 Strap Replacement

The Fossil Collider Hybrid Smartwatch HR uses standard 22mm interchangeable bands. To replace, locate the quick-release pins on the underside of the strap near the watch lugs. Slide the pin to detach the strap, then attach the new strap by aligning the pins and releasing them into the lug holes.

5.3 Water Resistance

The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (165 feet). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or high-velocity water sports. Avoid pressing buttons underwater to prevent water ingress.
