Instruction Manual

1. Safety Information

Always observe basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury when using power tools.

  • Double Lock Mechanism: The saw is equipped with a double lock safety button to prevent accidental starts. The trigger switch will not operate unless the safety lock button is pressed first.

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the saw is turned off and the trigger is locked.
  2. Align the 12V 2.0Ah Lithium-ion battery with the battery port on the tool.
  3. Slide the battery into the port until it clicks securely into place.

3.2. Blade Installation

The KIMO QM-23201 features a tool-free blade change system for quick and easy blade replacement.

  1. Ensure the saw is turned off and the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Rotate the blade locking sleeve counter-clockwise to open the blade clamp.
  3. Insert the tang of the desired blade fully into the blade clamp.
  4. Release the locking sleeve. It will automatically snap back into place, securing the blade.
  5. Gently pull on the blade to ensure it is firmly seated and cannot be easily removed.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off and Variable Speed

  • To start the saw, first press the safety lock button (located above the trigger), then pull the trigger switch.
  • The trigger switch provides variable speed control. Pressing the trigger further increases the stroke speed, allowing for precise control over different materials.
  • To stop the saw, simply release the trigger switch.

4.2. Cutting Different Materials

Always select the appropriate blade for the material you are cutting to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Wood Cutting: Use the included wood-specific blades (SK5). The saw can cut wood up to 10cm thick.
  • Metal Cutting: Use the included metal-specific blades (BIMM42). It can cut soft iron pipes up to 10cm in diameter and soft iron material up to 3mm thick.
  • PVC Pipe Cutting: Use metal-specific blades (BIMM42). It can cut PVC pipes up to 15cm in diameter.
  • Multi-material Cutting: Use the included BIM multi-material blade for various other materials.

4.3. Cutting Technique

  • Place the shoe plate firmly against the workpiece before starting the cut.
  • Start the saw at a low speed to allow the blade to engage the material smoothly, then gradually increase speed.
  • Maintain a firm grip on the tool with both hands (if possible) and allow the saw to do the work. Do not force the blade through the material.
  • For optimal performance and to prolong blade life, avoid applying excessive pressure.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your KIMO Reciprocating Saw.

5.1. Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the battery before cleaning.
  • Regularly clean the tool's exterior and ventilation slots to prevent dust and debris buildup.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the tool.

5.2. Blade Care

  • Inspect blades before each use for signs of damage, dullness, or bending.
  • Replace worn or damaged blades immediately to maintain cutting efficiency and safety.
  • Store blades in a dry place to prevent rust.

5.3. Battery Care

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • For long-term storage, charge the battery fully and recharge it periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) to maintain battery health.
  • Do not short-circuit battery terminals or dispose of batteries in fire.

6. Troubleshooting
