5. Setup

5.1. Installing Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the grip.
  2. Insert one or two LP-E6 Li-ion batteries into the designated holder, ensuring correct polarity. Alternatively, insert six AA batteries into the AA battery holder, observing polarity.
  3. Slide the loaded battery holder into the grip until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. Attaching the Battery Grip to the Camera

  1. Ensure your Canon EOS 7D camera is powered off.
  2. Remove the camera's battery and detach the battery compartment cover. Store the camera's battery compartment cover in the designated slot on the battery grip to prevent loss.
  3. Align the battery grip's mounting screw with the camera's tripod socket.
  4. Insert the grip's electrical contacts into the camera's battery compartment.
  5. Rotate the attachment wheel on the battery grip clockwise until it is firmly secured to the camera. Do not overtighten.

6.1. Powering On/Off

After attaching the grip and installing batteries, ensure the power switch on the grip is in the "ON" position to activate its functions. The camera's main power switch will then control the camera and grip power.
